Framerate readings in game??

Post » Sun May 12, 2013 3:24 am

Hey guys...

Does anyone have any ideas how to get an accurate framerate reading in game without the console commands?

I have tried 3 different caputure programs, FRAPS, dxtory and Razer game booster.. all 3 give different framerate readings.

I am running new PC, with LG LED 200Hz 55" TV, both less than a week old.

PC Specs>> http://www.radiorentals.com.au/technology/desktop-computers/leader-sv7710/
NOTE: GPU is ASUS/Nvidia
TV Specs>> http://www.lg.com/au/tvs/lg-55LM9600-lcd-tv

I run almost all Max settings, with zero lag.

Dxtory will show 60fps
Gamebooster shows 120fps
Fraps, well I don't know, as it doesn't like windows8 for some reason, but then again I don't like fraps either.. haha.

Even if I drop settings to medium or low I still get the same readings which doesn't make any sense.

Any thoughts, ideas or help would be appreciated.

well I know you can confirm which one is giving you the most accurate reading by typing "r_GetScreenShot 2" into the console it will show the current FPS in the console in blue in the format "FPS: ##.# (##.#ms)". That should help you determine which one is giving you the most accurate reading. You could also try AfterBurner just make sure you have the onscreen display server installed as well. It also seems some games may get locked to 60 FPS refresh rate in windows 8. Crysis 2 being one of those it may affect Crysis 3 as well not sure.
