Frames per second info

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:59 am

This is probably not the correct forum to ask in, but since I am testing my mod, I figured it was okay....I have looked high and low in game settings, controls, and in the forums, but can't seem to located how I can get the "FPS" (Frames/Second) to show in game. Is there a console command or something I can use because I can't find anything in game settings (either that or I may be going blind  )?

Thanks.

There is a console command for it, it's TDT but I know there's more to it than that. Personally I use Fraps for screenshots so I just enabled the FPS display in that.

Humm....didn't think about that. I should probably have Fraps anyway in case I want to do a video , so that is probably a good way to go. I'll also look into the TDT console command.
Thanks much!

There are a few articles on the GECK wiki, such as this on http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/ToggleDebugText, even though the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Debug_Text (for TES games, but using nearly the same engine) goes into greater depth.

The debug text console functions don't work. When I want to look at the frame rate, I have a script print the reciprocal of http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/GetSecondsPassed to the console. Preferably the average value over a few frames.

Thanks all for the input....glad to know I wasn't going blind and overlooking something simple. The scripting way is very interesting Cipscis, and I might play around with that since I am trying to learn scripting and have been using your tutorials------great job, BTW!.....thanks for those.

No, that doesn't work with Fallout 3, you'll need to use FRAPS or something similar. TDT only works with Oblivion.

According to the wiki, it is http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/SetDebugText that doesn't work with the release versions of Fallout 3.

No, I just tried it. TDT doesn't do anything anymore.
