Just wanted to say I am really enjoying this. OOO made ALL combat very challenging which really slowed things down. I didn't like it, and as such I didn't enjoy FCOM either. Fran's is perfect for what I want from Oblivion.

Hello, all.

I haven't found any information about this yet, and figured this would be the place to bring it up, so quick question regarding the UOP compatibility patch: will it/does it need to be updated to work with the newer Unofficial Oblivion Patch Hotfix ( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27710 )? Or will it work fine as-is?

I'm working on a fresh install and want to stay up-to-date while avoiding anything that could lead to instability, you see. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Realized that comp. patch completely replaces UOP's esp, so I guess that answers that. Anyway, if Dewshine or whomever could update this, they would totally be the coolest kid in school.

Quick question abouit Fran's - I've got it working, but living economy doesn't seem to work in Crucible. The smith (cutter) and magic teacher have infinite gold, but other merchants don't.. is this a bug or am I not understanding something.

I've figured out the problem, its the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch! I used the compatible version of the plugin from the original post, and it still has the problem.

I guess no one plays Fran's more.

First thing that happens when I get level 16 is find a bandit on the road that is carrying, guess what, an ebony mace. I have had loot set to extra hardcoe... I thought Fran's was supposed to fix that.

IIRC, Fran's mod changes the level lists to greatly reduce that sort of thing, not eliminate it entirely. You just got lucky (or unlucky if that's how you see it) You won't see regular bandits with Daedric because he caps their level.

edit: about Fran's popularity, I guess it's too moderate to interest the hardcoe veterans who make up a large part of this forum, I'm not sure. The fact that it hasn't been updated in a while is a factor too. I actually started a Fran's game a little while ago but then I got carried away with the new TIE updates. I would say that Fran's would be a good choice for someones first or second playthrough.

Is there such a mod where you can only get stuff like daedric from Oblivion gates, and ebony/elven from high level dungeons? Seeing a bandit in leather carrying a 1500g mace is absurd.

Here you go already done

Awhile back in either an FCOM thread or on a Frans thread I had mentioned that I'd gone through and cleaned up a lot of broken meshes and done PyFFI on those that could be. Ive had the files sitting around for awhile now, and have been unable to get ahold of Dewshine. Hardly a surprise I guess as she's not been here in eons.

Anyway, someone asked me about it today and I just uploaded the files:

Hopefully someone somewhere can get these to where they need to go to be distributed as needed.


You need to extract the originial francesco bsa and the overwrite all the meshes with the ones from above, and then repackage with OBMM BSA creator uncompressed..

Heres the list, I'm getting new items (like Ayleid weapons) so the leveled lists are working, right? I set basic loot to 95, and in one trip to an Oblivion plane I got a glass claymore and two ebony claymores... something is wrong. Heres my plugin list, thank you for your help

Greetings! Can someone help me on what would be the "best practice" on replacing Fran's Living Economy for the new Enhanced Economy Mod? or is it a simple matter of removing the specific Fran .esp, do a clean save and then install Enhanced Economy?

Xivilai's (however you spell them) seem to be a major exception to Fran's actually. Their loot table seems to be unaffected, and they will always drop two handed glass/ebony/daedric weapons.

I don't know my way around the TES4CS (I did some basic modding for Morrowind) but if someone could make the xivilai loot table include dremora weapons with glass/ebony/daedric being rare like they are supposed to be, I'd.. be very fond of you. I know this isn't a big deal to anyone else because, if you really didn't like it, you could just leave the weapons on the ground. It'd be awesome if there was a hotfix for that though anyways.

Reset your loot table back to default, find a safe spot and wait x amount of days for respawn to take effect..

Francesco is pretty much done no more changes will ever be done, The original Author and Dewshine have both moved on.

Custom User made patches are welcome..

I did that. Then I manually spawned the monster in question, and he has one of those powerful weapons every single time. Try it yourself, if you still have Oblivion installed.

EDIT: Sorry left out steps. There may be more or less instructions.
-If you are using LE-items you can/should use its menu to revert back to vanilla prices before you remove it. Look at the LE readme's alternate prices section.

-Is your LE part of 'Francesco's Optional Files.esp' or is it a separate mod? If its part of Fran's Optional you will need to use Fran's uninstaller. Just do LE's uninstall instructions first. Do not do a clean save install, you will lose the Frans' items you have. Just run Frans' installer without LE.

From Living Economy:
This mod changes the barter gold amount on EVERY NPC in the game. Even if you just disable the plugin, those changes will remain for any games that were saved with this plug-in active. To properly uninstall this mod open the customization menu by typing "startquest cflemenu" (no quotes) in the console and select "Disable Mod". You DON'T have to immediately stop playing. Everything should work as if the plugin was actually disabled. Once you actually disable the plugin there is a VERY SMALL possibility that any investments you made while using this mod will be forgotten (none after 3.0).

Living Economy - Items:
You should save the game outside any shop to ensure the prices are correct before uninstalling this mod. Keep in mind prices are similarly set permanently, so once you remove LE Items, the prices won't change unless an external price changing plugin is added after LE Items removal.

There are several types of xivilai, some types always have weapons others don't have any. But the ones with weapons always have something. Frans just gives them the 'light' stuff i.e. glass, ....

If you use OBSE you could look for 'Frans_OBSE_menu_plug' which gives more control of the loot and in an .ini form.

I think these are complete .bsa's not just the meshes.

dang. So, how can I fix this minor issue that is annoying the heck out of me? Or at least see what the problem is. I posted my mods list on the previous pages

I decided to download the construction set and give it a shot. I changed the xivilai's loot list so that glass weapons appear a dozen times, ebony four times, daedric once. Fran's had xivilai getting an equal shot to drop daedric glass and ebony. Hopefully that doesn't screw anything else up!

try this: use the fran menu and set the FranLoot.Type to 75 aka Extra-hardcoe. I can't tell but maybe only 0, 50, 75, & 101 work. then wait the reset time or try on a new game.

EDIt: If you are going into the CS. You may also want to change the 'Chance none' value. A value of 0 means an item will always drop. A value of 100 means no item will drop. But in this case it also means the xivilai will not have a weapon to fight with.

I've tried setting loot to extra hardcoe and 95 and waiting respawn time + one extra day. It still happens. Try it yourself. Spawn ten of them, and see what happens. The little plugin I just made makes them spawn with glass seemingly 80% of the time now, which is better.
