Francesco's Leveled Creature-item mod

Thanks for all the great work!

However, I have a problem that bandit archers shows the animation of fiering arrows but no arrows are shot, i have found another person with the same problem that says he found a "weapon fix" by franscesco that fixed it but dosen't say where, and i can't find it...

If it's a patch, and its for Fran's, and you can't find it there then it probably doesn't exist.

Just FYI, that commend is from v4.2 of Fran's. Chances are it's been fixed. Though I don't how anyone could still be using anything older than v4.5b.

I've got the naked bandits/caliper loot problem and I cant seem to fix it. I've tried resetting to defaults and resting X+1 days. I didn't have an older save to go back on so I started a new game. Had the same problem and tried the resetting+resting method and it still didn't work. The only other mods I have installed are Deadly Reflex, Ren's Guard overhaul and exnum runeskulls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is not your usual question, but I was hoping someone else has experienced this when having Fran's mod installed.

I was backing up my data folder onto an external drive (actually it's a 16GB jump drive) and it stopped with and error on a file that I knew came from this mod. I'm sorry I didn't take a screenshot and I don't really remember what the file was that couldn't be copied suffice it to say that it was something like this Fran.nif where the "F" in the word Fran was showing up as one of those special characters that look like a square. So it looked something like this []ran.nif. I don't know why it wouldn't copy it except to say that it probably didn't like that there was that special character in the file name.

Any help would be appreciated.

A little bit of shameless self promotion as I'm not much active in this thread and people might not be aware of Item Interchange. The latest version of Item Interchange has added huge chunks of extra support for Frans. I hope that this is appreciated and I hope some Frans users will take advantage of the effort I've put in for them. :)

Since you have a problem with an individual .nif file does that mean you unpacked the FraNewItems.bsa into folders?
Can you copy the original FraNewItems.bsa to the external drive?

When you rested was it in a 'safe' place i.e. no npc's or creatures in the same cell?
If you don't have a safe place use the console ~ coc testinghall this will take you to a safe location to do the console loot table reset and resting.
When done step through the hawkhaven door ( turn around ) and then fast travel to where you want to resume.

Thanks ThumperZ. It is probably just a one time glitch in the copy process. I'll give it another go after I install a few new mods, namely Unnecessary Violence, and see if it won't work this time.

I have a question about leveling.

on vanila oblivion u coud choose the attributes right after u slept but now you cant? how do i get that back or whats better about the new leveling thing? ( i only see health rising )

There shouldn't be a leveling problem with Fran's; I don't have one with my installation. Have you tried a leveling mod like nGCD perhaps? Maybe you have a residual level menu left over.

when i lvl and i go sleep and when i am awake, it says: ................. lvl 2
and thats it i seemy health rising by 5 points and i cant put anything in attributes

is that normal or?
i only have francis leveling thing
my leveling progress bar is gone to.

HI!

I have the GOTY Edition of Oblivion.. and for some reason Knights of the nine is causing an error that does not allow the game to even get to the menu screen!! what is going on?

Move the Knights.esp to the end of your Loadlist...

You may have to delete you oblivion.ini as well and let the game respawn a new one. It's not uncommon on an installation for that error to occur.

I was wondering: does the static-level quests mod also modify the Knights of the Nine quests?

I ask simply because one of the advantages of KOTN is that the crusader items will level up with you (when using the armour stand in the priory of course), which somewhat loses some of its appeal if you need to be level 20+ to finish it anyway. :)

Around half of the file links in the "Patches for Frans 4_5b" TESNexus page don't work, I get a warning about server error. Could you please fix these broken links, or perhaps post the files somewhere else?

Edit: The links now work.

When level goes high enough all the bandits have no gear with them at all? Is this normal? They only have some weapon and pants, but nothing else. They also have many calipers with them.

Q: OMG!!! All my bandits are Nekkid. And I'm finding only Calipers in the loot. What gives? Why are the bandits running around in the buff and where is their treasure?

A: Hate to say it, but 'G' likely doesn't give a hoot. But I do, heh. nvde or topless NPCs (this can happen with any of them, actually) and loot chests filled to bursting with calipers are a sign that the loot tables need to be reset. Lucky for you this can and should be done in game. First try this method: Go to a location with no NPCs (a player owned house is perfect). Open the console (its that handy '~' key again) and type in startquest fransmenu. Under Manage Settings select "reset to defaults". Then wait for the cells to reset for the number of days you have selected as your respawn time (If you haven't selected any then the game's default is 3 days) plus one day. This process should reset the cells with the bandits (Or other NPCs) and loot. If this doesn't work then you can roll back to an older save and try the reset again. Usually though this solves the issue. (Thanks to Man with no Name for the reminder to add this question)

Ok thanks for the answer. Other one: I'm not certain if this is a Frans stuff, but suddenly every possible Oblivion gate (I don't think in any time in the Main Quest all of them should spawn?) has spawned in the world. I mean all the possible locations at the same time?!!? Is this some known bug with Frans?

I've wanted to try this mod out for a long time. I read the readme thoroughly and I understand what it does. However, I'm not sure why a bandit (with a key and a chest) should be spawning in the Hackdirt caverns. Anyone care to explain that?

Hi guys, I recently discovered Francesco's mod and I'm really excited to play it.

I started up a game today and much to my dismay upon leaving the sewers I came across two dark elves at some ruins across the small body of water and...

well?

One of them had a giant yellow rectangular slab with a white exclamation mark on it.

I'm pretty sure I installed and activated all the necessary data files.

I'm concerned that it's one of two things.


- a conflict, as I wanted to incorporate a few other items into the game such as the Hashshashin robes.

- A level of detail thing, as it seems that the big crazy yellow block was an item one of the dark elves was carrying. In fact I'm pretty sure it was a bow, because as the dark elf rushed me, he put it away and then the large yellow slab disappeared.


Can you guys give me a hand?

I'd love to get this working properly.

Okay, I killed the dark elf in question, and he had a "shortbow".

I'm assuming this is a francesco-mod item?

In the inventory it had no icon and when it was dropped nothing appeared at all.

Q: I've played the tutorial all the way through with this mod and once I reach the exit my game crashes or has missing items. What do I do?
A: This happens when the BSA files are not installed or registered into the INI file. First off, Did you download and install also the 500+ Mb add-on package? Have you checked your INI file to make sure the .bsa for Frans are entered in there?
There are two ways to fix this problem. The installer should add FraNewCrea.bsa and FraNewItems.bsa to the Oblivion.ini file located in MyDocuments/MyGames/Oblivion.
After making sure you have the .bsa files in your data folder you should search your Oblivion.ini to find out if the installer did add them. You should have a line that looks similar to this:
sArchiveList=Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa, Oblivion - Sounds.bsa, Oblivion - Voices1.bsa, Oblivion - Voices2.bsa, Oblivion - Misc.bsa, FraNewCrea.bsa, FraNewItems.bsa

The new NPC's may spawn in existing (quest) locations. Which in this case means the bandit has a hideout.
The main thing is that the bandit didn't kill or get killed by the Brethren.

Woah wut? I just downloaded the self extracting executable archive from planetelderscrolls mod section.

Okay, so no oblivion .ini entries, and no .bsa files.

Wtf?

I have ESP files, but no BSA files.

Can anyone give me a working link to the full damn mod?

Okay, I know what I did, or rather what the installer -said- I could do:

Basically, I downloaded the 32 meg installer and it gave me all the resource heavy options of the 500+ megabyte installer.

Does this mean I have to restart my game and reinstall?

Also, if this is the case, is there any way to save or recover my character face/class configuration?
