Free 9mm SMG

I don't know if this was already discovered, or if you already knew about this; but I thought I'd make this for people that haven't discovered it.

In the very beginning of the game, in Doc Mitchells house, when you wake up look around the room the medical stuff is in. Right next to the desk (think it has a chemistry station thing on it) there is a box with a "Broken 9mm SMG".

If you have a repair skill of 35 (Pretty sure it's 35) you can repair it and take it without losing karma or anything.

If you don't have 35 repair, you can just come back when you do and take it.

It's pretty good, and it does 96 DPS at about 80% condition. Requires only 3 STR, Worth about 700 caps when it's fully repaired, and there are plenty of mods for it around the Mojave.

Hope this helped someone!

It's the house you wake up in at the beginning. In Goodsprings.

Doc Mitchells is the guy in Goodsprings that fixes you up when you get shot in the VERY beginning of the game. If you fast travel to Goodsprings, he is in the house just to your left when looking at the Saloon. At the top of the hill with the flag by it.

Never fired that weapon, I'd always wanted to try it but then I'd just hit the key for my weathered 10mm instead when I was in a bind.

It's not too bad. If you find it doing little damage against the guys with higher DT than the SMG's DAM (the red shield) just throw some AP 9mm rounds on it and it rips them apart. Granted it shoots so many bullets it's expensive to maintain... It's still good

Doc Mitchell has a lot of good starting stuff in his house. I'm pretty sure it's intentional, considering how many people that bought F:NV will be shocked at the resilience of NPCs versus F3.

It's good but, man, like you said, you tear through ammo.

25. And don't forget to check out the chemistry set on the nearby table - free chems with 25 science.
