Free-Flow Vs Pre-Organised Rping.

Dear You

This interests me, not just because I'm curious to see how others approach TES but also how you think Skyrim will handle role changes. Let's say you start off as a warrior, but your character (through some kind of interesting in-game event finds themself loving the magical schools) and you end up wanting to play this retired warrior turned pilgrim, mage, assassin or thief for whatever reason - has it been possible in previous games for you to be swept into other types of play and have you wanted it to be?

Tell me about your views on the balance between free-form playing and structured gaming with certain classes and characters.

We know already from what Todd has said that the game runs really intuitively - that we don't make any formal choices as to what our character is going to be, will this effect how you play your roles?

Best Regards

Me

As you have a perk limit I think it won't be a good idea to change your mind about your path in this game.

I have no idea how I'll play. I know I will review all of the Perks at first so I can make a long term plan for the character I want. Then I will seek to level up the talents that will define my character. I'll probably avoid the MQ and just start exploring.

I know that my first character will be ranger of sorts (one-handed, block, archery, light armor, stealth) but beyond that I'm gonna wait and see whats most fun, I might use some magic, or stick to alchemy, maybe enchanting or smithing, or both, or all, don't quite know yet.

I'm pretty unlikely to change my playstyle. If I want to experience a new style I'll start a new character, I love having more than one. That's why I have all my characters planned anyway - I have one planned for each style that I want to use. In any case my first character is going to be a battlemage, which is the style I enjoy most, so I wouldn't want to change anyway.

I may make very small changes like grabbing a warhammer as well as a battleaxe (just for a change every now and then), and with some characters I may end up using certain skills slightly less than expected and some slightly more, so for example my planned Khajiit thief/assassin might end up using Archery more than I expect and Pickpocket less, but the general theme of each planned character will remain.

Go with the flow 'no' plan persay but I'm not gunna be jumping between heavy and light armour for example.
