free roam feature? : Othor Games

will brink have a free roam feature? one of my favorite parts of red dead redemption was the free roam feature, i think itd be awesome in a game like brink. does anyone know if there is any feature in brink like this?

This is an FPS, first and foremost. Most FPS's don't have free roam

Sorry, its not gonna happen. After you beat a level, you simply get into a cutscene and then move onto the next level instantaneously. If you want a free roaming FPS try Borderlands or Far Cry 2.

dont think so, but there is "parkour this" challenges where you have to free run around a map as a light

Even with borderlands, after your 2nd playthrough its just Farmory and Craw-Farm

yeah but borderlands isn't pvp, or at least thats what i recall. and being in the first person has nothing to do with restriction of what features are included in multiplayer. most games in general don't have an online free roam feature. well i wish i couldve contacted SH earlier because a feature such as this couldve made a really big distinction in between other first person shooters... the ability to be able to hook up with a few friends and stalk random players would be awesome.

I actually agree, after my first playthrough the game lost its value to me, the second playthrough with friends was fun but still kinda a annoyance to play. The DLC looks good though.

Freeplay is the same as any other mode, except that you have custom rules, like the number of bots, and how many people can play overall.

i was hoping for some form of this... ive seen basically every video in existance thats even remotely related to brink, but i just wasnt completely sure. one thing i worry about brink is the missions being repeatitive... destroy this, hack that, capture this, i feel like while it brings many new things to the table it also takes away some things that would be awesome. i am not a cod fan boy, i hate the cod franchise, but what i feel like one critisism on brink might be the lack of different modes.

im still REALLY excited for this game, just putting some thoughts out there.

Accoding to that guide freeplay mode is just a random match rather than going through the story missions one by one.

is anyone clear on how many game modes there are at this point?
it doesnt matter how great the customization is, gunplay is, graphics are, story is, or even how good the overall gameplay is if it doesn't have variety...
