Was just wondering if we will be able to host public matches and choose the style match?..Doing the same maps/objectives is going to get old reeeaal quick. Would be great if we could choose to either have all out war (every man for himself) , team based war , and team based missions ... The game is pretty sic and could go a long way if the only way to play online wasnt mission based all the time..I wanna open a can free4all style!!! Am i alone on this one ???????

This game isn't about deathmatches, and we don't want it to be about deathmatches. It is about team objectives and it will stay that way. However I would like to see some of the classic objective types brought in; Capture the flag, Team king of the hill, etc.

WOW ! ....Agree with you on the team modes.. buuuuuut..."This game will fail " (note the quotes)..If we cant choose game type and just have a good old bullet fest....Going to sell this one after getting more ach.points then. Brink out.. 1 no hit wonder???

If you're just playing to shoot things and get achievement points then perhaps this isn't the game for you.
I'm guessing you've never heard of Wolf:ET or Quake Wars? They did pretty well (are still doing pretty well) without any deathmatch in them. It's not the right style for the game, nor the direction the developers want to take the game. You get plenty of deathmatch in while trying to complete your objectives.

You might have missed the advertisemants that said this was a TEAM BASED shooter. Asking for free for all is even dumber than TDM. There are plenty of games solely based around team tactics that don't need TDM. If you don't like it, then this game isn't for you. This game is for people you want; team based, objective, tactical matches with complexity. Why would game trying to be different to begin with just go along with the crowd?

Free for all is the worst idea I've heard for Brink!!!! Brink is an objective, TEAMBASED game. What happens to completeing objectives and the TEAM when you play free for all. Seriously, think about the idea first!

Same. Blame COD & the like for that. This was exactly the sorta game I was looking for. King of the Hill might be fun in this.

dont fragment the community any more. brink is a teamwork objective game, if you dont like it then move on.

too many threads ask for team deathmatch because objectives are boring n repetative. WTH is deathmatch then? just kill the other players....just kill the other players.....just kill the other players.....just kill the other players. MAN that is so much more fun than having varied objectives

Every game is TDM. You have to TDM to get to the first objective and then TDM to keep it safe while it gets completed and then TDM to the next objective. As defence you TDM the entire match.

Why does it need to be an entirely seperate experience? If you want to TDM then play an enforcer: take a soldier and keep the people doing objectives safe. People will love you for gaurding them.

You people need to realize something makeing a team deathmatch ffa type matches would require them putting in kills listed then they would get spammed with kills deaths and all that on score board. also brink was made and most likely will be kept a objective based games that way you use team work

plus those types would have everyone on a engineer heavy with mgs or mini guns

I agree with this. Deathmatch modes in all FPS games just aren't fun for me anymore. :shrug:

I think what i meant to say is.....More choices would be well accepted in the brink community...Perhaps a lobby to wait and ready up with REAL PLAYERS..And why not have them vote on what they want to play??? Dont want to play team bassed or solo head bashin game dont vote or dont ready up or better yet dont join that type lobby .TRUST ME IT WOULD WORK AND IM NOT ALONE ...And to the forum trolls telling me "this is not the game for you"..... It's funny how when someone asks for TDM they are told "this game is not for you". Do you people realize that this would just be an ADDITIONAL mode? They will not take away your precious team objective based game play just because they added TDM. You don't have to play TDM if you don't want to. "Dammit, you got your grubby COD germs in my Brink soup".

Alright so we don't know you....But you're raging awful hard over just a simple suggestion of "maybe this isn't the game for you". Dude, maybe it isn't, I mean okay yeah, the maps are awesome and would be cool to just nest up in Container City with a Dragunov where the front gate is to just snipe everyone.

But if that's your style, do it. Pick a body type you like with guns you like and the class you like and just ignore all objectives. Unless you're a total Bad*ss when it comes to kills you won't get much towards exp. but hey, you had fun, right?

All I suggest is if you want free-for-all, or something where you can shoot anyone you want, find a match with Friendly Fire on, or focus on killing the opposite team and nothing else. But if this is just too much effort for you, then maybe you should trade in for something more your shooter style.

This game is created solely for team based objectives. Addition or not, TDM would ruin it, making most of the players quit the objective based side for more player to play with...

Yeah, we all saw the videos, they were cool. But tell me this, isn't just about every video for a game you want look that cool and later on you buy the game realizing,"Hey, this isn't like the video." It never is, and as far as I'm concerned will never be. That's something Final Fantasy boasts about all the time is how their graphics improve so much that there's virtually no difference between the trailers and the gameplay. I've seen both. And I was more impressed with FF7 Advent children than any of their games when it comes to how cool it looks.

Also, I don't know, maybe you could tell me where exactly you think I'm acting like "my opinion trumps all"? Because I'm just another guy, trying to make another helpful suggestion. But if you want to be a total ass towards us for trying to help you out, well that's your own choice and some would say loss too.

WOW ...No choices in brink then I guess huh................This is what im hearing from brink..Customize anything you want , only if is how we like it....I guess you have to be somewhat ecentric to enjoy this game after 3-4 days..In that case then yeah , this games prolly not for me..I assumed this game would have more options than it does..and as allways assume = ass+u+me..
