This is the Freespace 2 image currently on gamesas's main page.
Funnily enough, the vessel--the EAC Eclipse--in that pic appears to be not from the game itself, but bears a striking resemblance to a mod called Inferno R1 (see Hard Light Productions for more). I can get that you're not using any actual Freespace ship designs because of possible IP issues, but this begs the question...
Does this indicate some interest on the part of gamesas in making another Freespace game? Because if so, I know of a dozen communities off the top of my head that would weep with joy and prostate themselves before the gamesas staff if they did.
