That's pretty cool friend, is it just a cleaned-up version of this list?

Yes, I may have added 1 or 2 lines of description for a couple programs but other than that it is a mirror image. The main appeal of a website for it is so it is easier to link to and easier to find categories.

Another defragger. I've been using it and like it, but if it's superior to the other free defraggers already listed I don't know.

I should like to point out that there is a new version of JkDefrag called http://www.mydefrag.com/index.html

It now also appears to be a program that needs to be installed. Seems to run faster, though.

  • Defend Earth from the alien scourge in yet another first perso--wait, it's a 2D platformer? Outcomes based on the player's decisions and a horde of secrets/unlockables give the daughter (yes, it's a girl) of Metroid and Halo plenty of shelf life.

This needs bringing up as I should hate it to be the victim of a forum prune.

I0bit 360 security is offering their anti-malware and anti-spyware pro version for free for a year.

http://www.askvg.com/get-free-1-year-license-of-iobit-security-360-pro-worth-29-95/

I have used their free version for some time and is a good prog. I downloaded the pro version - anything for nothing. ;)

Awesome thread, not sure if mentioned.
What about RPG map makers and/or map maker? I am looking for those.

Dundjinni - http://www.dundjinni.com/
The Fractal Mapper - http://nbos.com/
Profantasy - Campaign Cartographer - http://profantasy.com/
AutoREALM - http://autorealm.sourceforge.net/
World Machine 2 - http://www.world-machine.com/

The only one 100% free is Autorealm, but are there others?

Heh, no idea. I have used it up to yesterday as the free version, only turned it on to scan and use the other tools it provides, not run it continuously. It's not an antivirus so never felt the need for continuous cover. Sorry can't help. :(

Plus it was a good way to bring the topic back. :D

Benchmarks and Overclocking::
Memset
  • http://www.tweakers.fr/memset.html
  • OS: 2000 / XP / Vista / Seven 32&64 bits
  • Adjust RAM timings from desktop instead of BIOS. (Very cool for OCers. Saves many reboots.)

Benchmarks and Overclocking:
Heaven Benchmark by Unigine
  • http://unigine.com/download/
  • OS: Windows. (Including W7 and DX11)
  • Cool 3D benchmark software if you get bored of Futuremark offerings.

Um... Hi, does JKDefrag also defragment my registry? After learning about Iobit's questionable ethics, I want to find replacement programs for comprehensive service of Advanced System Care. JKDefrag rocks, and I have CCleaner, but there are still a few features of ASC that I haven't seen in other programs (although, I haven't really downloaded oodles of programs anyway). I like the registry defragger, the registry anolyzer (seems much more thorough than CCleaner's), the security issues spotter thingy... all that good stuff. I guess I just want something that can thoroughly tidy up my PC after moving around Morrowind Mods, browsing the internet, and installing/uninstalling/playing video games.

EDIT: Also, there's this program that's supposed to optimize my RAM (free up ram when idle), any alternatives to IObit's Smart RAM?

Um... Hi, does JKDefrag also defragment my registry?

JkDefrag is now MyDefrag and no, it does not have a registry defragmenter.

I like Auslogics Registry Defrag but now it costs money. I'm using TweakNow RegCleaner which seems is alright but has features I don't use.

For RAM optimization, I use CleanMem. Automatically runs every 30 minutes and frees up any RAM it can.

Don't know if this is cause for removal but IObit isn't exactly trustworthy...

And could you link to the website I made for this? It's kind of just chilling in cyberspace at the moment.

I tried clicking on the executable, but I don't see it starting up, nor in my list of processes in System Explorer... is that normal?

------------

By the way, PageDefrag isn't installing/running for me (windows xp 64-bit, SP2). Says I need to be the admin - but I am the admin, there are no other users aside from me.

Well there isn't an interface, it just runs automatically. There should be a folder in your program files.

And if you go to your program scheduler (on Vista it's Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools -> Task Scheduler; I don't know about XP) you can choose how often it runs.

I'm looking for a .exe decompiler/extracter, but couldn't find any reliable looking ones. I'm on vista btw and freeware is fine.
