freeze, then random skins become curupt

Interesting problem (and really the only one i'm having) the Game will freeze for about 5 to 10 seconds and when it recovers, some of the skins would be out of wack. ie, the weapons will change to a solid purple color, or NPCs face will go solid black, or a certain skin let says ED-E's will take the place of all the skins in the game.

The fix is to alt-tab out and back and everything is back to normal.

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm running BFG's GTX275 Video Card.

Finally, someone else is also having this issue. This has been plaguing me as well since I first got the game. However, I've always been force quitting and reloading. I'll have to try the alt+tab trick. Might make things a bit smoother. Mostly though, I've been struggling to determine if my problems were being caused my by gpu (also a gtx 275) or possible just a coding bug. If anyone has any more advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It could be the graphics card, but I think I remember a bug that was in fallout 3, as for the purple color, that is a missing texture

Man, it feels good to finally see some other ppl with the same problem.

The problem happened constantly (mostly indoors) but after i updated my video drviers to the 10/25/10 release it cut in half.

It's still happens but not as often and it's not isolated to just being indoors. svcks, because this is really the only problem i've experienced with falloutNV except for the occasional crash to desktop.
