Freezes for a few seconds.

On my 7870. If I recall the original Crysis exhibited similar problems.
The game will infrequently completely freeze up for about 3-4 seconds, then resume normally. Oddly it does it by far the most often on the animated loading screens.

Could it have anything to do with CPU/GPU auto clocking down issues, as a guess? Or is anyone else suffering this problem?

I just posted about this. Im having the exact same issue here. Im using a 7850, and i can play the game absolutely perfectly, but every now and then sometimes an hour in, sometimes 10 mins in, the game will have these freezes that last a few seconds. Some last longer and to unfreeze the game i have to alt-tab out and then go back in. I've monitored my GPU temp and its completely fine, all my drivers are up to date. I want to know whether this is a game issue which can be fixed or not, becasue i cant see what could be going wrong with my hardware. Whan the game is running, its perfect, so i have no idea why these freezes are occuring. Theyre totally ruining the game for me

Hmm.. looks like it may be a 7000 series issue.

Just been playing Skyrim for a good while and that isn't doing it. I've also upgraded to the 13.2 beta driver to no avail.

I'm sure it's this game at fault. How did the other Crysis games fair up on your rig? Assuming you've tried the original.

What sound tech are you using? As I'm getting weird sound looping, and lagging on dialogue-- last time it all lagged and I had an awful din of 7 or so lines of speech playing simultaneously. I'm using the onboard Realtek HD Audio solution on my Asus mobo. Just to find common hardware, it may not be the video card/drivers that are problematic.

An unrelated question: How does your game perform on the oil rig mission, the first one? What settings are you running? I"m at 1920 res, high settings - but very high textures - with no AA and it seems to dip quite frequently below the 30 frames playable mark, especially out in the open and looking through the fancy distorted glass.

I havent played the other games on PC before, but i did get the original with the hunter edition, so i'll install it and give it a go just to see what happens. I installed the 13.2 driver also and likewise, its done nothing to solve the issue.

Funny you mention audio, alot of times just before the freeze up happens, the audio will sometimes outright cut out, or it might buzz slightly. It has also looped several times when its become stuck. I've checked all my sound drivers and theyre all up to date. Im using my onboard mobo sound (i have an MSI H61M-P31) also.

The first mission i ran on high settings (my systems not quite juicy enough to play on very high comfortably) at 1920x1080 res with low AA. My frame rates were fine however. I've since set it down to medium bet kept textures and other details high, as ive gained nearly 20 fps from doing so and the game looks much the same as it does running on high settings. The first time i played and on that first mission i did get a freeze, but it only happened the once so i didnt think much of it. Since then its occured alot more frequently. I've managed to get through about 3 hours of the game but its been frustrating as im always anticiapating a freeze and i cant just relax and play it. Its pretty damn annoying and i hope its something that can be patched. I'd love to see a bit more feedback from the dev team on here tbh...
