and your not having similar issues with any other games?
and your not having similar issues with any other games?
i tried playing paladin an hour ago and it did the same thing but that was the first time it happened with any other games. ive been having this issue for years and before then it worked just fine
do you have any other programs running while you try to play a game? (a web browser, ITunes, recording software, or anything else)
usually a web browser and a steam chat but i have tried without
well probably shouldn't have a web browser open, Skyrim (and most bethesda games) often crashes from alt+tabbing, and Steam has a built in web browser for when your playing a game anyways (Shift+Tab IIRC, then press "open browser")..
roughly how old is your PC?
and I see you are running Windows 10 atm, was it a fresh install, or did you take advantage of that "free upgrade" several months back?
so if you built it in 2013, you probably took the free upgrade to 10 back when it was offered.. did the game work prior to the 10 upgrade, and did it work at all afterwards (and if so, for how long?)?
and you will get issues running the game swapping through programs like that to use a web browser when running Skyrim, its an engine issue that has existed in Beth titles since at least Oblivion (possibly Morrowind as well.. but I can't quite remember off the top of my head as i never actually alt tabbed much back then)
did the game work just prior to your upgrade to 10? and did it work at all afterwards?
its sort of an important piece of information.. I have seen a fair share of people come into my office who have had some slight issues running various software because of small hiccups during the upgrade..
HDD likely wouldn't be the issue or you would probably be seeing it more widespread, and unless you knocked the machine over pretty hard i imagine your HDD wouldn't be failing quite yet (although it is possible)..
infact, from the sound of it i don't think the issue is hardware based at all.. some kind of settings issue more likely.. have you tried running as admin?
what resolution are you trying to play at?
After the clean boot it worked? No more freezing?
IN a clean boot state, save and upload an msinfo file. https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200148686-How-to-find-your-DxDiag-MSInfo-files-
The file is a text file like the dxdiag. Just copy and paste it into spoiler tags like the dxdiag.
Yes. Upload an msinfo file in a clean boot state.
ok just messing around i can open the game without crashing. i turned off the cloud syncing thing from accounts so it may have to do with my old account. but now in fullscreen mode it flashes black and a white tab in the fullscreen and i hear music like it skips the bethesda logo. i ran it in windowed and it worked perfectly fine. im extatic right now. any help from here?
With Bethesda's games some people can play the game better in windowed mode and some people like me can only play the game full screen. Windowed still works but performs like a garbage truck.
I believe there is a mod out there that is called fake fullscreen.
thank you everyone for the help on this soooo much i will post updates if anything bad happens
