French version(i feel discriminated)

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:51 am

The last couple of years I live in Paris, and from times to times i spend some cash on computer games, the latest I bought was Fallout 3...

Coming back to my place all hyped out, glad over the new purchase, put the game cd in the computer, start installing...and slowly start to realize the only language available is frensh...
I do understand, I live in France now and all, but I thought it was something like center of Europe, and theres no problem to buy dvds and games that at least give you a choice over the language.
But I was wrong...

So now I'm really pissed that I spent 50 euros on something I really want to, but can't use.
I mean is it really difficult to put the original version to choose?

So the next game with no language option, I have no choice, but to download it illegally, just because the legal version gives me no option...

Last time I checked, the game's language was clearly displayed on the case.

...and wait for couple of weeks to get it chipped...

I'm a type of person that likes to play the game I bought right away, same with wears, for example, when I buy new sneakers, I wear it in right on the spot...

STEAM is faster than going to the store- it's a download service. No shipping (not chipping, BTW) required.

Like Phoshi I was also going to mention the game case and ask how you managed to not notice, but then that would have ended in a racist joke about your screen name.

Steam is a lovely service - providing both computers have some sort of internet connection for the initial run, you can download the game to as many PCs as you want and play them - the only catch is you have to be logged into your account, but if you don't have an internet connection you get the benefit of the doubt (I do believe it'll want to verify once every 50 or so plays, though?), so you can indeed play on both your laptop and your home PC - just not at the same time.

..now I have the game case in front of me..everything is in frensh here, but they did't mention laguage options.

For example, the last game I bought before this one was GTA4, n I had a choice ther...so I was't really worrying about other games...
