Due to incorrect modding procedures, I decided to do a fresh reinstall of oblivion. However now every time I start up the game, when it is half way through displaying our beloved bethesda logo, the game just crashes to desktop and for the life of me I can't figure out why. I have reinstalled it about 5 times now to no avail, any ideas?

Did you make sure to delete the Oblivion.ini configuration settings in My Documents>My Game>Oblivion?

Glad it worked, that is usually the problem with a fresh install crashing. The game doesnt clean up after itself very well.
