Fresh start for new patch

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 11:47 pm

I deleted EVERYTHING on my PS3 pertaining to Fallout:NV a few weeks ago, so when I heard the patch was out, I popped in the disc and downloaded everything new with a fresh install. Started a new character and set out into the Mojave. Everything seemed to be as it was prior to patch. Didn't notice any performance difference, but continued on anyhow. Journeyed to Novac right off the bat to get Boone with me. As soon as I entered Novac... froze. Waited 3 or 4 minutes, nothing. It was dead. I'm done with this crap. What a waiste of time.

So I guess we got ourselves another script patch.

The only difference is: We waited over a month for this patch 1.1 replica.
I mean, what's the point of fixing script issues when you can't even walk around.

I knew there wasn't any miracle coming our way, I didn't expect much. That's just plain
insulting. I love the game, but I can't play it. Seems like Bethesda didn't read our problems or didn't care.
So my dilemma, try the game for myself or shelf it for another 2 months, hoping that the next patch (if we ever get any) will actually
improve the game's performance.

Before you get all hyper.. pop into the store in goodsprings and check energy weapon ammo and see if it has dt bypass.. if not you didnt actualy get the current new patch you got the other patch from before that.

I'm curious about this as well. It is starting to sound like they simply updated PS3 to the current PC build rather than rolling that patch into the "big" patch.

yup it sounds like a bunch of people hadnt actualy been fully updated before and now are to 1.2.0.285.1313.6969.abcdefghij.supercalafrickenexpialacanttouchthis... or whatever it was. Why cant devs call game versions by names like they do hurricanes? that was patch tanya and we should be getting yolanda tonight!

Actually I've confirmed elsewhere that it does at least contain the Energy Weapons ammo changes Sawyer talked about. Basic EC has -2 DT and max charge ECP has -10 DT (all I've seen reported so far).

(edit) Apparently the Multiplas Rifle only consumes 3 units of ammo per shot instead of 6.

The companions are also showing up on your pip-boy map now too, leading me to believe that this is it.

Then it seems this is the PC 1.2 patch, the one they got 2 weeks or so ago.
Still, we should get some feedback from Europe, since the comprehensive patch was suppose to be released tonight at midnight.

Are we sure these are two different patches?

No, this is not the same patch the PC received last. It seems to contain those changes on top of the other new stuff.

I know, but what I'm saying is that are we sure the two didn't get rolled into one for the Xbox and Ps3 versions?

That's what I meant when I said "on top of the other new stuff". The energy weapon ammo having -DT indicates that is the comprehensive update spoken of.

Ah, ok, thanks for the clarification. That makes more sense now.
