My friend hates me....

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:36 pm

So I've been keeping up on brink since I found it randomly online like a year ago. I saw on steam the other day that it's going to be released in so many days and I started to freak out. Ever sense then I've been trying to get my friends to get into the game and make them pre-order the game with me. I got one of my friends interested for sure but he wants to play Security and I was wanting to play the Resistance.... I just was thinking from a pure RP perspective that I would most likely be on the Resistance side in RL.

What do Brink Nation?

So am I right in saying from a clan play perspective, the team can be built from both Resistance and Security?

This is more of what I was thinking about. I didn't know if we have to pick one specific side when playing online. Or do you automatically switch sides every so often?

When you make a character you design his look for both security and resistance. You can freely switch back and forth and play any side you want to. When you can switch will depend on platform, mode and if pc server rules, but most will probably let you switch between battles.

EDIT: Cut out this part. Was probably more confusing then helpful.

Thanks for this, I was wondering how this would work. Seems to me like any other shooter with two distinct teams (ie: russian and american) where you change factions according to what side of the battle you are placed on(defender/attacker) a-la BF:BC2 .

You are correct. The big difference here is that if you watch the cut scenes, you will actually get different sides of the story, plus being either attacker or defender.

My only fellow Resistance are from this forum. What few previous friends I have on the Xbox who may play Brink (including my brother) plan to play as Security. In such cases, in the unlikely event I am not playing with my brethren here, I could hop into their game and make sure they can't succeed as easily as they may have without my interference.

That's probably an evil idea, but that's the joy of Mingleplayer: you can drop in not just cooperatively, but competitively.
