My friend saw the Skyrim trailer in 3D(!) in the cinema last

Post » Thu Aug 11, 2011 2:45 pm

It was Captain America, or something. In MIddlesborough, UK (I don't live there, btw. I'm not a northerner. Just in case you thought I might be. Eugh.)

He said it was the first trailer. I asked him to describe it and he said this:

"Some NERD stuff happen and then there was a dragon at the end"

That's the most I can get from him. Has anyone else sen any of these? How is it looking in 3D?

The film was in 3D, so was the trailer, he said.

I have no expectation nor desire to see Skyrim in 3D.

He was "trolling" (i.e. taking the mickey) with his description of the trailer but I do believe that he saw one.

captain america is the lamest superhero this side of the blind guy. seriously, no bad guys ever thought to just blow a really loud whistle or use one of those air horns.

captain america can shoot lasers from his eyes............oh no he cant. wait he can pick up cars and toss them over his head........um nope, cant do that either. hes super quick and finishes very quickly............well according to his girlfriend this part is actually pretty accurate.

oh thats right he has a shield that he can toss like a frisbee. i bet captain america can at least pwn the other superheroes when they play frisbee golf at their picnics.

and why exactly is america showing up on spell check. is firefox communist?

You sound like someone with an apt username. Are you really from Blackpool? Perhaps you are visiting from overseas. I lived in Lytham for a year and as far as I could tell the area did still have a British culture of gentle friendly mockery, a national one, nationally understood. I sent him a link to the thread after I posted it, the tone of it being written with letting him see it in mind, and he was duly amused. However, maybe to you I would not be a 'wonderful' friend.

I've been reading these forums daily for over a year, multiple times daily in the last 9 months. I've not been aware of this topic being discussed before now, it must have slipped into obscurity very quickly.

I for one would LOVE to see the Skyrim trailer in a theater. Now, can anyone confirm, was it the first trailer, with the clifftop dragon fight, and was it (as in the trailer) in 3D?

1. Many a superhero/villain have gone toe to toe with Steve Rogers an regretted it.
2. He's in my book the perfect superhero, completely honor bound, always just, always looking out to defend the lesser man.
3. All these traits make him the perfect leader, and the delicious center that ties the Avengers together.

"Some NERD stuff happen and then there was a dragon at the end"

...he's "short, ugly, stupid and weird", watches captain america... and said TES was "NERD stuff"?

i want to hunt him down and teach him the meaning of terror...

anyway, what is this topic about, other than telling us about your friend hating TES?

just wondering what the trailer looked like in 3D?

...i assume it looked exactly the same, just with a similar effect drugs have on your vision.

Edit:
On topic: Yeahhh Skyrimmmm woooo bring on the no greaves

...why are you even here if you already hate skyrim before its released?

also, captain america is horrible and pathetic, i've never hated a superhero so much since superman.

He said specifically that it was in 3D. It wouldn't be too hard to make a few minutes of CGI 3D so I disagree when you say there is "no way" when clearly there actually is "way", it's just unlikely. lol!!!!1111111

So, yeah, anyone else? Looking for considered opinion not ill considered opinion painted as fact.

My mate said the trailer was in 3D
I am skeptical however it is not beyond the realms of possibility

Has anyone here seen a Skyrim trailer in a 3D film? Has anyone here seen a 2D trailer at a 3D film, for that matter?

He probably thought it was in 3D when it really wasn't, just cause he had the glasses on and it played inbetween the other 3D trailers, you'd be surprised how many people don't fully understand this technology just like how a lot of people can't tell the difference between SD and HD.

I have put this idea across to my friend.

The conversation went like this:

Me:
"you are being called a fool:

Friend:
"I can tell the f*!#@ng difference between SD and HD, c%$t" (I edited this part slightly)

Me:
"but can you tell 3D between and 2D?"

Friend:
"possibly"

I am forced to conclude that we don't know. I do think it unlikely, otherwise we'd all be more excited on this forum. There are some 3D versions of the trailer on Youtube, however I've not looked into the sources of those.

Well I highly doubt Bethesda is giving 3d versions of their trailers to movie theaters, think about how unlikely that is, the trailer was never in 3d, there is no 3d verison of it, the only possible way there showing it in 3d is they hired special effects artists to edit the trailer frame by frame and added 3d layers to it which I highly doubt they would and I think would get them sued by Zenimax Media, not to mention the game isn't even in 3d and Bethesda is very strict about showing footage of games that are not in their original format, just look at the quakecon footage always getting taken down because its not the true game screen footage.

I have thought about it and that is why I keep using the terms "unlikely" and "skeptical".

You have your opinion. It is very similar to my own. I wish to hear from someone who has either seen this trailer in 3D, or in 2D at a 3D film screening, or can categorically state with evidence whether or not this trailer exists.

Any other posts in this thread are, in my eyes, redundant.
