Greetings.
I've a newly surfaced issue that I hope folk can help with.
PROBLEM: Despite safeguards, allies now attack each other whereas before there was a buffer before this occurred.
Due to prolonged illness I have been away from the game since mid 2014. In addition, during the latter part of that year Windows 7 became unrepairably corrupt, requiring a fresh OS install. Oblivion, however, is housed on its own dedicated SSD and not affected. Additionally, while I lost much off my OS partition, all Oblivion related files were recoverable, including saves and the ini. I am thus able to carry on from where I was those many months ago. There are no obvious differences that I can see on screen. The game runs no more or less stably than it did pre crash. No Oblivion log file that I've thought to check has shown unwanted anomalies. My load order has not changed. I did, however, update to the most recent releases of the various unofficial patches, Wrye Bash, and BOSS.
- Since starting back a few days ago I notice several instances of allied NPCs (including Chorrol city guards) attacking each other after suffering no more than a single friendly hit while battling a foe. This should be a VERY rare occurrence for me, as I use the Bashed Patch tweak to allow friendly hits, set at "15". This setting has worked well for me for quite some time....until now.
- During this morning's session, my avatar accidentally hit a fellow legionnaire while fighting a highwayman along Red Ring Road. This triggered the legionnaire's arrest dialog...which so far as I recall has never happened to my avatar, certainly not since enabling the Wrye Bash tweak.
- The earliest noticed instance of this odd behavior occurred when one of my two bestial companions attacked a mod added vendor in Weye Village, without provocation. This has never happened before to my knowledge. I reloaded that save four times hoping it was a fluke, but each time we neared that NPC my "pets" (one of them at least) attacked.
- There were a few more such instances, but those occurred before I took the issue seriously enough to pay close attention.
- I have occasionally experienced friendly fire episodes in the past (pre OS reinstall), but they were mostly understandable, and greatly reduced with the Bashed Patch tweak.
I seek guidance on what to look for to track down and solve this issue.

Note that I do run quite a few mods that add and/or modify legionnaires and travels, which can increase the chanced of friendly fire. But again, the Bashed Patch tweak has always reduced this to a tolerable level.
My first guess is that though the Bashed Patch is set to allow a certain number of friendly hit before disaster ensues, something is overriding it. But what, why now, and how could this be checked? I can't rule out that the OS rebuild comes in to play, though so far as I can tell my Oblivion install is exactly as it was pre-rebuild, minus the few mod updates mentioned above.
