A friendly little challenge :)

I would like to do a "call it" thread. Basically you claim 5 things you believe will be in the game...this can apply to anything characters, weapons, landmarks, plot points etc etc...then a few weeks after release let's come back and see who got the most right. Winner gets a cookie

1-your son will be a major character
2-your NOT a android
3-desmond will be returning(ghoul from point lookout)
4-power armor will be the only way to reach the DR cap
5-various groups will want you to join them as you are a pure pre war human and they will be after your knowledge

I'm tempted to post my list of suggestions, but I have a feeling there would be more than five :D

- There will be lots of exploration but we won't get to explore nearly as much as the Pre-Apocalypse world as I would like to.

- You will find a small band of Enclave remnant. They will be portrayed in an almost sympathetic light until they do something bad.

- The Dog will be invulnerable until there is some plot point that shows the dog getting killed. Only the dog doesn't actually die. It reappears during another scene to save the day.

- Power Armor will be a potent play style but not as potent as the sneaky sniper. The biggest advantage to Power Armor is for facing down Deathclaws.

- Settlement building will be a blast but will require some fine tuning from mod authors.

Ok, but don't say I didn't warn you lol! To keep this fair, I will play by the rules and will stick to five predictions only. Here are my choices:

  1. The most advanced synths made by the Institute are known as Generation 4
  2. Shaun is trained in advanced warfare and he believes that he is synthetic
  3. One of the in-game bobbleheads will be found along the now destroyed Interstate 495
  4. In order for the protagonist and their family to go into stasis they first have to 'drown'
  5. The post-war section of gameplay will begin on Sunday June 21st 2285

My five:

1- The first bobblehead will be in vault 111

2- You get to Tag! 3 perks when inside vault 111, similar to taking the GOAT, you are assigned a job in the vault based on perks you tag

3- A supposed "life threatening" event occurs inside the vault forcing everyone into the freezers

4- The Railroad will be an intricate part of the main quest, forcing you to decide to aid synths in a bid for freedom if you want good karma

5- Dr Li is a returning character from Fallout 3, and is against the Institute.

I appreciate your comment, but I think I'll stick with the ones I've already posted, just so that others can have a chance to put their ideas forward as well :)

@OP, brilliant idea for the thread :goodjob:

1. If Codsworth has a quest, it will involve androids. He will possibly sympathize with his fellow machines.

2. The Sole Survivor will have to make a utilitarian choice that will force him/her to decide between the well being of the child and the well being of the wasteland

3. Dr. Li will have a morally gray role.

4. The Sole Survivor will meet other people he/she knew from before the war besides the spouse/child, possibly as ghouls

5. One random encounter will involve a lone Gary clone. GARY!!

1. The Brotherhood has created a empire across the Eastern US, and wants that delicious technology in MiT for its imperial ambitions.

2. The Insitute is Isolationist to the core, and may not even realize the full gravity of what the BoS empire can actually call upon.

3. The conflict between the two will form a large part of the main quest, and will be some pretty heavy shades of grey like with the Imperials and Stormcloaks.

4. A lot of callbacks to Fallout 3 stuff, banking on some Nostalgia. Fallout 3 did this with 1/2, and good old Half Life 2 had this in spades. Not something unknown to hyped up major series like this.

5. Android liberation will only be one part of the conflict. The Brotherhood won't support it out of the kindness of their hearts, but as a deliberate tactic to destabilize The Insitute and possibly gain some auxiliaries to fight alongside the power armoured elites in the final conflict and as garrisons in the new territory of Boston.

1. There will be a reference to Gordon Freeman and/or the Half-Life series in the Institute. He's from MIT, after all.
2. Salem will be a ghoul-infested place, similar to either Underworld or the Dunwitch Building, complete with a Lovecraftian theme or reference. It will be a DLC if it's not part of the main game.
3. Shaun will blame the Soul Survivor for "abandoning" him. He will fufill an antagonistic role, and may or may not be a Ghoul.
4. Shaun will not be the primary antagonist in the story, but will be the game's equivalent of Frank Horrigan, Col. Autumn, or Legate Lanius.
5. We will see more of the Brotherhood "Outcasts". They will not be any friendlier than before.

1. Your baby is a cyborg assassin who was sent from the future to kill you.

2. A side mission will be based off the movie Footloose.

3. Your dog will be telepathic and help you find people to "date"

4. You'll run across Ra's al Ghul and his band of merry men who will teach you how to conquer your fears.

5. You'll discover a secret radio station that plays Lemon Tree by Peter Paul and Mary on a loop.. once you discover this station you'll never be able to switch to another station or turn off the radio.
