Friendly (Or Speaking) Dragons

Yes, if they're voiced by Sean Connery.

Yeah Dragonheart is one of my favorite movies too :( too bad Dragonheart 2 was awful.

It'd be like a sea lion trying to nice with an orca, just silly.

Then again sea lions aren't as smart as humans and neither are orcas as smart as dragons.
Not saying I want a dragon helping you, but I would like to have a interesting conversation with a neutral one.

It's an anology, they are the predators, and we're their prey. I don't think there should even be neutral ones, they are here with a specific purpose. Though if they thought it'd work to their advantage, they should be able to try and have dealings with us.

yup. but dragons are intelligent and they are probably to some extent over confident of their power and arrogant so if you defy them it would be logic that they talk to you to amuse themselves

Yep, as I've stated myself in this thread a few times.

I was just saying I didn't like the anology. It isn't fair to compare a idiot to a genius.
Dragons don't have to like us at all, but... the best anology I can think of is this..
That one guy is Mankar Camoran's paradise told us either to fight him or go into his service. Either would bring him honor. I think that should happen in the game, only with a dragon.

Dragonheart is still my favorite movie and I haven't seen it in months. The sequel was just horribly put together.

This may seem stupid, but would you be interested in speaking to dragons, or perhaps encountering friendly dragons, who may be neutral in the battle for Skyrim? I personally believe that the dragons of Skyrim would be much more unique than in other games if you would be able to have conversations with them, or perhaps have friendly ones. I'm not talking "Leafy The Dragon" style encounters here, but if one could speak to dragons and not portray them as typical antagonistic invaders I believe it'd add a whole lot more believability to the game. Any thoughts?

This actually isn't stupid actually.
Since you are dragonbron and know dragon language, I think that being able talk to some dragons and not being hostile with them is actually very reasonable.
Actually, there are dragon shouts that will summon dragons to help you in battle if I'm not wrong, so I guess that not all of them will be hostile.
Would be kinda boring if they are.

Except no one that knows what they are talking about would call an Orca an idiots, and I don't recall it being said that dragons are geniuses. And the anology works perfectly when dismaying the difference in sheer power between dragons and the vast majority of the inhabitants of the gameworld.

I think I would like a couple of friendly or neutral Dragons, if they are intelligent then they themselves might have wants of needs that I could help them with to get on their good side. I dunno I'd just find it boring for every single one to be hostile even if you could speak to a couple of the hostile ones.

I'd only be interested in talking dragons if it was smack talk. Or more in depth story line type interactions, but violent none the less.

As I've said in my yet to be released video, your ability to summon a dragon would be made a lot more fruitful if you could use it as a companion and talk to it.

Friendly dremoras is the next step. What exactly are dragons in TES lore? Energy construction that burns into flames as they die or why don't they leave physical body behind them when they die? If we know what they are we can judge if they fit as friendly. Tyrranids in WH 40K are hive minds for example, so if dragons would be like hive minds, they can't be friendly.

In the interview for the voices of Skyrim I believe he said that you were able to speak to dragons. He was talking about how hard it was to get the adjust somebodies voice to sound like a dragon.

becoming a dragon would also be pretty cool, martin septim did it (killed him though but we could get around that since martin had no training whatsoever in the dragonborn ways and that a safe way to do it could exist)

Dragons neutal to the conflict sounds like it would be intereesting. Maybe befriend it too. They are supposed too be very intelligent and one might figure out that being a friend of the Dovahkiin is in his/her best interest. I'm gonna be happy with whatever Bethesda created in the 2 years they spendt developing them(it was 2 years. right?)

Yes, if they're voiced by Sean Connery.

I was going to say no, but now I'm saying YES. If they get Sean Connery to voice all the dragons, I want them to talk. A lot. pvssyrboxes.

If not, then I don't want them to talk at all. Just be beastial and horrifying.

It's more like 5 with 2-3 years of full level development by the time it releases if I recall correctly.

Yes, dragons are very intelligent according to TES lore and I feel they don't need to be mindless beasts who attack just because Alduin said so...and they do need epic voice actors and dialogues (personal favourite, Sovereign's dialogue :) )

they even have their own written language, that alone shows how intelligent these creatures can be.

and i'm still voting for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1zjeYhJs7o to be cast as a dragon, or better yet, a grey beard.
