Friendly Wildlife?

It's probably not likely, but I can see where a "ranger" type might enjoy taming some wildllife, like a wolf, as a pet.

OXM UK March Issue 2011 - Some of the new AI was tried on some wolves. The wolves have a lair, and leave it a few times a day to patrol. They patrol for food and hunt in packs, if they come accross you they will hunt you. If they don't see you they will hunt for deer for example. If they have a catch, they will not leave this catch even if they see you and instead defend there food, only attacking if provoked.

Yes that sounds very good, was pretty surreal to see wolfs and deer together in Oblivion.
Might also be an idea to level the response or have enemies redraw if they take serious casualties a wolf pack attacks your high level character and kills some of the with ease resulting in the rest running away.
Low level bandits should not attack a high level character at all. Better this might depend on equipment or reputation, someone in daeric armor can walk in peace, a pure mage in street clothes might get attacked unless famous as he don't look dangerous.

I think the animals in skyrim should take after real animals. Like if a animal would most likely run unless attacked then it should, not just attack on sight.

and make game skittish and fast! in Gothic 3 you had to sneak up on game because if they saw you, good luck getting the kill. by contrast, in Oblivion, it was silly to have my character overtake a fleeing deer with ease
