Frightning Realization

 Don't think about what other people did. If you accomplish something, you'll still have the sense of accomplishment. Cheaters piss me off too, and it doesn't feel quite the same when a bunch of other people got stuff through illegitimate means. Just kill them a lot and let them know that they are unworthy of that stuff and rank. There was nothing quite as satisfying as getting a quadruple kill on Tactical Insertion boosters in MW2.

I dont see how they could make their "mingleplayer" system work and not have characters stored client side. When youre offline, there is no server, and when youre online, youre able to use your singleplayer character. When you go back offline, you need to have all of the things you unlocked in multiplayer.

So I imagine they're attempting to stop the problem by putting strict limits on what you can and cant do. Sure, people could still use an editor to give themselves anything, but it would stop anyone from taking more than 20 skills.

Something that just hit (and scared the crap out of) me, if multiplayer and single player are one
and the same on Brink, that means our multiplayer characters stats will be saved on our hard drive
and not one the SD servers like GTA4 does. Ergo it will be easy for programs like Modio to f*** things
up for the rest of us. :sadvaultboy:

Never thought about that. Hopefully there will be updates that stop it. Or hopefully there will be enough people playing that you can just back out and find a new game and not have to worry to much.

If you know who you are, what you did,you shouldn't care what others say.YOU just know, that should suffice.

That's nice and all, but getting banned on every popular server sans my own in games like Battlefield 2 and Americas Army 2.0 and 3.0 blows because, "NO WAY YOU MADE THAT SHOT I'M TOO GOOD AT THIS GAME BANHAMMER".

I'm not entirely sure if the map size and server controls would support it, but I hope SD has included an easy way for PC server admins or even players to check others for legitimacy. AA 2.0 had PBSS checks - if you thought someone was hacking, you go and look; anyone could look at PBSS and look for obvious/non-obvious signs of cheating. A system like that would really be nice from both a player and an admin perspective.
