Frist time Playing Fallout type Game -Amazing but need help!

Post » Tue Mar 22, 2016 5:49 pm

So I'm at Level 40 and finished the Game with the Institute. This is the best Game I've ever played. It was amazing.

I want to continue playing but Im having a hard time finding things to do. My progress tracking on the Xbox Smart Glass app says I'm only 64% done but I don't know what else to do???

Where can I find more missions? Should I just walk around and clear every building?

I don't want to get into building settlements as I find that Very boring and pointless.

How can I get my progress tracker to 90+?

Most amazing game ever. Love it.

First RPG I've ever played

You reach a point in the main quest when you're locked out of the faction missions for the ones you didn't side with. That may account for some of uncompleted progress, if you didn't go as far as you could with each faction before choosing sides.

There is certainly more gameplay to be had, just going around and clearing locations, but for some people it feels purposeless if they don't have quests telling them to go there.

You could go back and start a new character to try a different character style, but you might not find that it feels very different. I'm going to switch genders for my next character, so that I can at least hear different dialogue and the other main voice actor.

If you don't want to start over yet, you could go back to an earlier save from before you locked yourself into an ending, and take a different path to see the other endings.

Personally, with this type of game, I like to take my time with the main quest and do as much side content as I can along the way. I'm currently level 63 in my first playthrough, and I haven't been to the Institute yet.

Glad you're having a good time.

I note that my own 'Xbox progress' is 91%, because 5/55 new achievements for the DLC have recently been added,

which seems to prove that the 'progress' is tracking Xbox achievements.

So to get your progress up, pursue those achievements B) .

Or just have fun with it.

There are 120 magazines to collect.

8 model robots to collect.

You could (ahem) romance all the romanceable companions.

You could visit tracked locations (I've visited 331, I'm not sure what the max is...)

In my experiences, with every Bethesda game I've ever played its very easy to find whats called Legendary weapons. I purposely hunt these weapons down just to have them. In Fallout 4 there are several locations that you can go to and find them, do quests to get them, and just flat out buy them from vendors. In going to the locations you are able to travel the vast wasteland to locations that will usually have lots of lore behind them, giving you all types of immersion to turn you into an even bigger Fallout fan boy that you already are. The second choice, you can find all types of quests that people will want you to go on, that in return you will get a special weapon or piece of Armour (ex.Here There Be Monsters/The Silver Shroud missions. Maybe even become The Shroud?). Then finally you can spend a lot of time running around, killing, and clearing locations for items to sell. Building your settlements up to make make money whilst also discovering more legendary weapons. Not to mention all the legendary enemies all of the world...

The main quests just gets your feet wet. Like prevs said replay with the different factions. I particularly liked the interactions between the Railroad and Institute and playing both sides against the other while trying to stay on both's good side up until a point. I'm at level 123 and 475 hours and I just found more places yesterday one of which as I approached initiated a quest. So just go wandering too. There's below ground stuff, above ground stuff, get wet stuff, stuff to build, people to direct, people to protect. It's really massive with a lot of neat history innuendos. Also when you can, you'll want to do Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. And always SAVE frequently. IMHO

Some locations will start a quest once you enter them (not many, but there are a few) Also, a lot of vendors might have work, and it should appear as an option when you talk to them. Same goes for some NPC's other than vendors. There are some quests when done, which opens up for other quests as well. Random notes and bottle messages gives you some minor quests, not real quests as such, but ok if you stumble upon them (there's usually some stash to loot) There are some cool unmarked places around the map.

Try to collect all magazines and Bobbleheads as your personal goal / challenge :)

At level 40, I doubt you have seen and tried it all. I'm currently level 62 on my current playthrough, and I haven't even touched the Main quest yet :)

as others have said, start collecting stuff. unique weapons, magazines, bobbleheads etc. doing so will require you to clear out just about every location. that itself will trigger some quests probably.

Or if you're like me...

Stop playing until the new survival mode release, then start a new character and experience there game in a whole new - difficult and exciting - way.

With the new survival mechanics, increased difficulty, and upcoming DLC, it will be a totally different experience.
