I'm referring to all the RPG elements and freedom features that have been stripped off Skyrim .
All of which are compensated with a lot more good stuff.
Which their implementation in previous games was no good at all, and encouraged grinding and power-play, and doing actions for the sake of optimizing attribute boosts at level-up session.
I hated that mechanism and, and hated that most of my characters converged toward a master of universe with all 100 attributes and skill.
Now in Skyrim, our characters get more and more specialized, as we develop them, because of the limited perks that they can acquire.
A much better character development mechanism.
I might consider reimplementing the attributes in a mod, but more like the fallout 3 style, which would keep them almost constant through-out the game, and they could affect the different skill progression rates, and nothing more.
Because if the vastly different spell casting mechanism, which works with individual spell effects, the spell making, which combines different spell effects into a spell package, was out of question.
A real loss, but we have to wait and see how the new mechanism works before we start to bash it. It might work great, and might result a more enjoyable mage characters, which is the ultimate reason for such a games.
I do not understand it.
For sure there are lots and lots of different weapons in the game, which wold have their own individual length.
What is the problem here?
spears , crossbows , thrown weapons:
The more weapon types in the game, the more choice we would have for our characters, and the better.
No doubt, in that, and I hope in the next games, there would be enough time to develop all those different weapon types, and more.
Personally I do not miss those, from which I used Crossbows, a few times.
From what I see, I find the new AI more immersive, and easier to use, than the impedimenta that was Oblivion's packaged UI.
For PC gamers, a redesigned and streamlined version of Morrowind's UI, might have been better, but it would not have worked for console gamers, and required a totally different design.
So I settle for it now and hope that a gifted modder with some knowledge of "Flash'es Action Script", would make a more PC oriented UI for it.
Which are compensated with the bigger list great improvements that Skyrim has over Oblivion, and even over Morrowind.
