From 1-10, how satisfied are you with the info?

Post » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:44 am

9 or 8.5 graphics were a big shock it was such a big leap they are amazing!
Im scared of being I've hyped a being disappointed just like what I did to halo Odst, reach, gta iv and most call if duties :( most games I play for first time I seem disappointed when the next game comes out.
I've played oblivion for more hours than I would have liked to and I heard some people were a little disappointed with oblivion that played morrowind I hope the same dosent happen to me for skyrim but the game dose look amazing but so did reach and I was a bit disappointed with it.
Someone pls tell me I'm wrong and it's going to be an amazing game :'(

its going to be an amazing game, and yeah, ive played aloooot of reach and its a bit of a let down

@ OP - you dont like dragons? did you also not like the nerevarine in morrowind, or martin in oblivion?
they are going to be the main plot driver.

I don't mind dragons being in it, I am just skeptical of how they will be implemented. I don't know for sure, I might end up loving them. I am just worried that fighting them will almost be like a cut screen because of the "bullet time" nonsense. But for all I know (I did not even read the article, this is all hearsay), the "bullet time" might just be like 1 attack.

yeah bullet time sounds like some stupid feature added in to make the game seem like God of war or a platformer, which i really hope it wont be.

You mean as a skill? If it does, it will end up being like 2 b/c of perks.

As a skill, yes, but also as suits.

I don't want to have: body-head.

I want to have: gauntlets-cuirass-greaves-boots-head.

Or even: left gauntlet-right gauntlet-left pauldron-right pauldron-cuirass-greaves-boots-head, but that's probably wishful thinking.

I'm also not fond of the idea of perks. I'd prefer them to be automatic, and linked to percentage skill progression, like in Oblivion. That way, we don't run out. I also don't want them to be stupid perks like in Fallout. Please keep them TES-sane.

Turns, I heard about someone wearing a single pauldron, so I don't think we have to worry.

The "bullet time" is the only thing I really am worried about. And fairy-tale dragons.

imo, dragons are awesome (both in the traditional sense and 'woah thats awesome dude!') no matter what package they come in.
as long as bethesda doesnt mix n' match, such as some being mindless beasts and others being uber intelligent, ill be happy.

also, i think they should focus on developing relationships with the dragons, so they become somewhat of an important aspect.

Some of the info struck me as bad news and just wound up dulling my excitement. The specifics have all been said before by everyone and their dog, so I won't bother repeating it, but I'm not really convinced they've learned anything at all from their past mistakes anymore and DRAGUNS AND DOOL WELDING aren't really enough to get me hyped. 4.0.

I wouldn't worry about it, from what people have said, they look more or less like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4Zzua3YZ2g#t=03m49s did in Redguard, so they are going to be more or less in line with past lore. Given we have dragon speech, maybe the dragons won't even have to speak english.

The thing with pauldrons is, we don't know if the outfit is just supposed to look like that or not.

I have mixed feeling for the information.
But there are slightly more good than bad news in my opinion. So I'll say 6.

Voted 9.
Most unsatisfied about fast travel. Make it optional by on/off setting and add a transportation system please.

Graphics could be a bit better too I think. But then again the somewhat low-res quality of the screens I've seen are playing a role here.

I also wanted to know about a hardcoe/survival mode. I really want that. (optional of course)

Fast Travel IS optional without having to turn it off. Don't want to use it, don't. I agree it would be nice to have a transportation system though.

lol, "DRAGUNS AND DOOL WELDING" made me chuckle

but yeah, it kinda worries me that bethesda havent addressed key issues with oblivion, and that they kinda have a "we know best, theyll still buy it" attitude

A few interesting new ideas. But the article didn't address a single one of my concerns about the game, only introduced new gimmicky stuff that I'm afraid won't work correctly just like with Oblivion. Beyond that there's enough things to worry me (scaling mentioned, 18 skills, etc.)

I'm going to need a better written article, or a fan Q&A before I can judge anything.

Fast travel was not optional in obivion, not really.

Quests were designed with fast travel in mind. If you really wanted to travel half the map for the next dialogue advance, dismounting every 15 sec to fight, yes, you could. But it was a hinder, not really a viable option next to fast travel.

Especially since if you did not use fast travel, sudden NPC death was much more common. So you could choose not to fast travel, yes, and end up having all travelling non essentials dead by level 15.

Just remember, Bethesda didn't want to talk about old things. They wanted to talk about new things. They wanted to say "hey, look at all this neat stuff we've been working on, we've wanted to tell you for years, but now we can! Sweet, huh?"

Just because some things have changed doesn't mean old things are gone. On that note, I voted 9. I'm happy to learn about all the changes (so I can wrap my head around them before the game actually gets in my hands/on my computer (if I go the Digital Download route, which is unlikely, but possible, depending on what they have in the Collector's Edition and such).

I can't say I'm disappointed by anything so far. True, I'd prefer a fast travel system in the vein of Morrowind in which you used boats, silt striders, and magic to get around quickly, but then again there still could be those methods of transportation, which were absent in Oblivion. The graphics looks better than Oblivion. The AI sounds improved. I'm not too excited about the whole dragon thing, but I'm not disappointed by it either.

It sounds like the world of Skyrim will be more diverse than I thought. The character faces look much better than Oblivion. That female Nord looks attractive as compared to the ugly women in Oblivion. They mentioned in the article that the appearances of the different races will be more distinct than before, but they didn't include any pictures of the other races. I wish they had shown a picture of Khajits, Argonians, elfs, etc. I'm just hoping that seeing these other races won't be a rarity in Skyrim.

Yes.

I voted 8.5 because due to all the GI hype I was expecting my "head to explode", which didn't happen but nonetheless I am very satisfied with the info we've been given. Reading the article I could see that they thought about things from a slightly different perspective and tried a fresh approach to various aspects of the game, which must have taken a lot of hard work and that alone shows their will to improve and how much they care about this series. Of course whether or not they succeed in pulling all these things off remains to be seen but I think their efforts are inspiring and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Game is still unknown, but I think it is around a 8-10 for me, but the info the magazine released I gave a 6. I really don't know what I was expecting to learn, but this just wasn't it. Still have high hopes for the game, it is just the amount of info on certain key components was incomplete.
