Seth Horn
Hearing commotion outside, Seth shrugs it off and continues on to the cafeteria. Rapid fire could be heard following the distinct whine of a minigun, though it was too far away for Seth to do anything about it. Peering down the sights of his assault rifle, Seth charged down the corridor, stopping behind a nearby wall and peeking his head out in hopes of avoiding an ambush. Much to his dismay a group merc's armed to the teeth had apparently heard his little scuffle in the gym, each of them decked out in kevlar with tactical gear. Seth muttered a few curses under his breath as he cursed the lack of logistical support for this mission.
Mercenary Captain: "'Ey, you two punks cover that hallway leadin' to the gym. That's were the gunshots were coming from."
Mercenary #1: "[censored] that. Just throw a grenade and be done with it. I'm not finna' get my ass shot up."
Mercenary #2 "'Eh, you got it. Frag out!"
It took all of one second for Seth to react, sprinting down the corridor and hugging a nearby wall, taking care to shield his head and chest. A deafening boom could be heard as the frag grenade exploded, peppering the entire hallway but leaving Seth relatively unharmed. He could here several "pings" as the worst of the shrapnel simply deflected off his armor, while some smaller chunks were embedded in the outer layer. Now thoroughly pissed off, Seth charges into the cafeteria and immediately places the merc that tried to grenade him, popping off two rounds to his chest, piercing his kevlar with ease.
Before he even hit the floor the buddy to his left opened fire on Seth with a pump-action shotgun, hitting him once and merely grazing him a second time. Seth returned fire from behind an over-turned cafeteria table, using it more to obscure his enemies line of sight then for cover. Methodically Seth popped up from behind cover and leveled his rifle on his next target, the chump with the scatter-gun. One shot to his right arm made him drop his weapon, the next to his groin made him wish he was dead. Only their captain and two merc's remained, laying heavy cover fire on the table Seth was hiding behind. It didn't take long for their automatic's to reduce it to a pile of splinters, spurring Seth on to finish the firefight with a particularly risky tactic. Shouldering his M4, Seth vaulted over the table and charged toward the salad bar.
The merc's opened fire once more the second they saw their opening, emptying each of their clips into the metal guard separation the food-serving section from the kitchen. Tired of letting the two idiots take potshots at him, Seth removes one of two grenades he always kept with him, hurling it in a perfect arc toward the two merc's, who'd foolishly been firing outside of cover. Five seconds later all that remained were two very dead, very deformed piles of gore. Though he'd survived the skirmish relatively unscathed, Seth knew another such encounter would be the end of him. Regrouping with the others would up his chances of survival significantly. After finding a fresh clip into his M4, Seth made his way back through the gymnasium and into the courtyard, searching for any signs of group he arrived with.
