Frusterating Fahlbtharz Boilery Resonators

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:23 pm

title/
After I had ventured far enough to be there, I found the 6 Resonators, in the Boilery, knowing what they do from Dawnguard, I shot the first one with an arrow after many attempts later I used Flames to hit them, it works, I went Left to Right, Instead of Right to Left like I did with arrows, I get all but the middle to the right set, Is there a certain order they must be hit? Ive been trying this for around an 1 and 1/2

You hit the 2 far left ones, and I don't remember which one on the right that you have to hit.

Thanks, and the one on the Right is the Middle one.

This one a confusing puzzle for the first couple of minutes, for sure. I am happy Bethesda is trying new things!

I ended up solving the puzzle by accident while still thinking I had to somehow turn on all the boilers I layed down lighting storm and ended up hitting the Resonators in just the right order. Then I spent five minutes trying to figure out why none of the Resonators responded anymore.

It's been a while since I've seen a puzzle where I had to physically write down things and do math. Good on you Bethesda!

I just read the journal (use the term read loosely) and I saw 18 in one of the corners of the pages, and figured that the resonators had to add up to 18. Just took some experimenting. Good puzzle though.

It's actually really easy after a couple test attempts, you just have to count how many lights there are altogether (20), and then figure out how many each resonator activates. You can actually undo each resonator by hitting it again, so you just have to hit one, count how many it activates, undo, and repeat with each, then figure out which combination of resonators adds up to the exactly the total number of lights.

It reminded me of the Feros puzzle in the first Mass Effect.
