Frustrated and need help

Post » Fri Feb 12, 2016 10:31 pm

Hey everyone...I apologize ahead of time and know this has been posted about all over the internet but I still have not found an work around that solves the problem for me. I can't save my games in Fallout 4. I have been scouring the net for days with no luck. The game runs great, looks great and I am ready to get into it once I get this worked out. I am running Windows 7 with an i7-2600. I play the game through steam. I am open to any suggestions as everything I've tried has just frustrated me more. Thanks in advance.

I suggested that on a different thread , so feel free to try it. Maybe it works for you.

Also run the game as administrator!

-------------

Right click on C://Documents/my games Click on the Security tab. Click the Edit button. Click the Add... button. In the blank provided, enter "Everyone."

After creating this group, highlight its name, and give it full control. Exit out by clicking OK and Apply.

As long as you have done this to My Games it should be fine, but it won't hurt to do it to the Fallout 4 folder as well.

Also, you can try to create "Saves" folder within the Fallout 4 folder and made the same permissions changes to it.

Thanks for the reply Mark

I read the thread you posted this in and unfortunately it didn't work for me. I've sent an email to Bethesda, hopefully they can help. Although from what I've read they don't offer much help on this topic.

You could try to move your steam and game to a different location!

Before that, try to deactivate any antivirus and similar programs you're running in your system, and see if the game is saving now!

That didn't work but appreciate the suggestion. You know I'm also experiencing a problem where FO4 can't detect video video settings. I can manually set them and the game runs fine. Not sure if there connected in any way.

Probably due to the same issue, file access rights to the folder. Have you deleted the entire Documents\My Games\Fallout 4 directory? Have you tried creating a new Windows user account to see if it generates the folder correctly?
