Frustrated!

Alright Fallout NV fans and Lovers, here is a question that Ive wanted to ask for weeks now. Do you think that Fallout NV should have a DLC or an Update that allows you to return to the Wasteland after completion of the storyline ? Or atleast have something similar to the Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel in which we were allowed to return to the Wasteland after we Purified or Contaminated the Capital Wastelands warter?

Look! It has been confirmed that there will not be an add on like that......not.

I think they should but is is to hard to create a DLC to accommodate all the possible endings to Fallout New Vegas. They would have to create at least three totally different games. One where Caesar controls the Mojave, one where the courier is in control of New Vegas, and one where either the NCR controls everything or Mr. House controls everything. Its just to much for a DLC.

I kinda agree. I would love to be able to play after the game ends and see all the possible endings and all the repercussions for those endings. In an ideal world that would be the perfect DLC.

BUT

The truth is though, is that it is impossible to do, and if they attempted it they would just likely screw up the awesome ending that it already has. There's alot to lose and not a whole lot to gain (relatively) in other words.

You have to think about every single thing they would have to change after the end. They would have to change the wasteland according to every single possible combination of an ending slide. It's ridiculous. It's pretty easy to see why we will never play after the end.

As much as I personally would want to be able to continue after endgame, I'd have to vote no, mostly for the sake of the devs. It would be a programming nightmare, I'm sure, considering all the various endings.

However, after seeing threads like this (many, many times), I think I may have a good idea for a compromise. That is, New Game+. What happens is that the game is over, but you start a new game where you can pick up where you left off with your challenges (and keep the challenge perks you acquired along the way). I think this would have the effect of encouraging people to replay the game using very different builds and approaches. It really becomes a fresh game if you go from a stealthy sniper, to an in-your-face melee fighter, to a smart talking, fast-dealing pistoleer. So, in a way, you get to continue your game. However, it's more like a "reincarnation" than an "afterlife".

The challenges might have to be tweaked a little, so that each one has to be completed within a single game. In other words, "I Dismember You" would required 1000 dismemberments in a single game, not spread across a few games. I'm sure it's easier to carry over character data over to a new game than to deal with post ending game play. With that in mind, I would also like to see more challenges, as well as more difficult challenges.

That's just my two cents.

I think the option should be there for those who want it, on the understanding that there wont be big massive changes, and that the wasteland wont have updated itself from after the battle.

Obsidian made this game op

The only way I d want it to extend is if they give me the canon ending.

I can care less about running around for no reason, and I wouldn t even buy a dlc that extended all the endings.

So pretty much no unless they throw out all non canon endings.

There has been both confirmation that there will be no continuation after the Hoover Dam Battle, and a number of other topics discussing it.
