Full Sets of Armor

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:32 pm

This pertains to wearing all of the SAME certain kind of armor, such as Elven, Leather, Glass, etc. There is only 4 WORN pieces to match. Helmet, Chest, Gauntlets, Boots... So, no weapon, or shield included. Enchanted, or not.

I'm curious, because I feel they have implemented this so that we would be more keen or obligated to wear full sets. I hardly ever do, whether because I have specific enchanted items I made, or unique items I've found, that never tend to match. It just doesnt matter to me as long as I am fit for what I am doing at the moment.

I had a friend who says he deliberately collects and searches for each piece of set and then enchants them. I thought to myself, that sounds like a really cool and fun thing to do. I'm curious if you find yourself doing this, and how often you run with full sets.

I'm in full Falmer except the helmet, because the helmet is ugly. :) I really dislike the helm requirement for the armor set perks.

I wear sets, but usually leave out the helm for visual reasons. I wish we had a toggle...

Thats funny, I've got full orcish armor right now and I keep the Falmer Helmet with me and use it when I want to look badass and don't mind losing a handful of armor points.

I store exotic armour and wear them when I gathered all the pieces. Much like I did with Morrowind. I displayed every piece upon my bed in the correct order. When I finally got to don that armour, I felt bad-ass, proud and every other positive emotion flowing within my body.

Such reward is never found in Skyrim. Due the leveled vendors who suddenly bring out their best fashion after level 15 or so.

I didnt even know that you could get a perk for having full set of armor until yesterday. I didnt even bother looking at all the perks for Light and Heavy Armor. :banghead:

Generally don't tend to use helmets. I spent time on my character's face, I refuse to hide it behind a helmet! Perks be damned!!

Earlier in the game I usually wear a motley assortment of whatever armor I've come across, but later on I've usually found enough armor to make a matching set all the time.

Of course, in town I'm wearing my Gold Ruby Circlet, Fine Clothes, Fine Boots, Gold Diamond Ring, Silver Jeweled Necklace, and my Blade of Whiterun. If I'm Thane, I need to look the part right?

Bling, Bling muthaf**ka! :disguise:

Always. I dislike wearing mismatched armor, though in Oblivion i often used a skirt instead of greaves with my (female) Spellsword.

Without helmet though, unless i need the extra DR (that with heavy armor perks is significant).

I wear full sets. I set my helm to my favs and bound it to a key less used so I can toggle it on if I'm going into action or off if I'm just mucking about in a city. I go into 3rd person when I'm traveling and then into 1st person when I'm doing doing dungeons..

At level 38 I saw the vendor selling Ebony armor for the first time, I looted my first full suit of ebony by 31 or so. I think you're exaggerating a bit.

What was the system in Morrowind?

Might be missing something :)
2 pauldron slots
2 ring slots
1 necklace slot
1 chest slot
1 leg slot
1 foot slot
1 hand slot
1 weapon and 1 shield slot (or 1 2handed item)
oh and you could wear clothing under armour iirc.

No bonuses for any armour beyond the armour itself. Which when factoring in enchants with the number of slots was one of the reasons gods were so easy to make.

Hand placed loot. Especially for Daedric which consumed many a day for me.

It can differ really. I never said what I found but if you are curious, I found Dwemer and pieces of Ebony around level 15-18. I have no reason to lie to the community about this.

Yeah, I am level 21 and I havent seen Dwemer or Ebony at any point in the game. Glass is about the best I've seen so far.

I'm currently sporting (L 29):
Dragon Priest Mask
Dragonscale Chest
Elven Boots
Scale Bracers

My character kind of looks like he rolled around in an armor bin until enough stuff stuck. That's pretty par for the course for me; generally I'll go with whatever has the best enchantment on it, since my own enchants are pretty weak.

Dwemer was the most insulting. I found it in Whiterun vendors, level 12. Granted I found the chest piece myself but the rest of the armour + greatsword was within my Redguard's reach. I play on the Xbox360.

I either wear: All DB Armor or All Daedric Armor

I usually wear Dark Brotherhood though since Daedric is too easy :)
And DB Armor has a lot of good enchantments.

 Well I will admit, I dont buy any of my armor... Nor have looked to buy.

I guess I figure If I can come across it in a cavern or fort, why spend 1000+ septims on armor. Ill look into it now.
