Fully closed helms

Post » Mon Sep 19, 2011 1:07 pm

skyrim screenshots from magazine shows amazing new details such as the topic suggests one of those details are fully closed helms as seen on the gaurds, others are bound bow looks AMAZING cant stress the AMAZE enough as well a well here is description
The first is of a dragon in flight shooting flames at the player. The player is shooting an arrow at the dragon. The article points out the scale of the dragon saying that it dwarfs the buildings that are underneath the dragon.
Shows the player using alchemy equipment from the 3rd person perspective. in the device is a green liquid and gas. The player is hunched over a mortar and pestal. He is wearing a blue/purple robe and a greyish hood which draqes over his shoulders and back a bit.
The third is of a female player in the horned helmet and hide(?) armor. She is in a camp of some sort looks like it has a watch tower made of logs.
Next is a small screen shot of the lockpicking mini game. looks like a skyrim themed version of the fallout lockpick game (not new).
We see what looks like the player with a companion in a partially flooded dungeon, they are approaching a skeleton that is shackled to a post with water pouring down over him.
Shows a guard with a torch and a full face helmet.
Shows a player dual casting a fire spell in a robe and hood.
Shows an awesome shot of the night sky with the northern lights.
Player shooting a bear with an enchanted glowing bow (this looks really cool).
Giant Mudcrab, looks freaking huge.
A really good looking female npc.

These is not spam im interested in talking about fully helmed uh helmets so any one else like to make a comment and such on these go right ahead :)

I could never be happy with any helmet in Oblivion because there simply weren't many closed helms. I hope there's a lot of them in Skyrim.

In a game like this I hate helmets, I will go without them just for the fact of making my character's face. Why would I take the time to create a character's face and hardly ever see it because of a helmet? I liked how Dragon Age 2 gave the option to turn off helmets, so you could still get the set bonus for armors and defensive benefits of a helmet without physically seeing it on the character. :tops:

Yeah, one of my favorite little mods for Oblivion is Kafei's Armored Circlets - a set of circlets, tiaras, and headbands, matching each of the normal armor types, so you can have protection equal to the helmets you've found, without covering up your hair & face. Here's hoping someone makes a similar mod for Skyrim....

I get around this problem by only wearing full armour when I expect to fight. In towns or cities, or when I'm traveling I'll usually just wear clothes or go without a helmet.

Closed helmets aren't bad but I prefer to see my characters face, having spent an hour tweaking them in CC just so they look cool. I avoid wearing closed helmets if possible, especially now that the characters all look so sweet.

For closet helmets, I'm hoping for sound effects ala FONV (maybe FO3 too, can't remember), where the wearer actually sound a bit muted/muffled when he speaks.

A toggle that opens a visor would be a good addition. Lets people who want open or closed helms have whichever they want. Some could be a front mask removed, or a hinged visor lifted.

Daedric, Madness and Crusader, that's about it.

And Dwemer.

On topic: I rarely use helmets, but I do like the idea of more variation in the equipment.
