I am using a laptop with these spec : i 5 4210u and a geforce 840m

i am not able to run this game in fullscreen because then the screen goes black and is not responding.

The only thing that worked for me is run the game in windowed mode...

I also tried to change the option through the ini.file but it didnt work

I am having a similar issue. I have windows 10, GeForce GTX 970 (just updated the drivers before trying to play, AMD Phenom II X6 1100T processor, 16 gigs of ram. I have 3 monitors. When I try and play fallout 4 in full screen, my mouse does not show up on the screen and I can't navigate to options in the menu. If I kill the game and start over and select windowed mode, I only get low res options, the largest being 14xx something. I have a 1930 x 1080 monitor, I want to use AT LEAST 1600 of it. How do I fix this?

AFAIK, it's the drivers crashing. I have the same problem (though I have an 860m 4gb ddr5). I really hope this gets fixed as soon as possible, since my game also crashes often on windowed and fails to load saves, so the game is completely unplayable for me at the moment. And by the way, do you happen to use windows 8.1?

I have the same problem. game runs on windowed (i don't want to play like this), but on the normal fullscreen it stops responding after launch!

i thought the game was not working because i installed it in external HDD and had to redownload/install it again.

yes, fullscreen doesn't work. we have to use borderless windows.

Windows 8.1. Same issue.... And what Hz on your monitor do you have ?

Aspect ratios 4:3 and 5:4 apparently break the game, so do ultra widescreen ratios.
