Okay...don't get weird'd out by this...but I'm working on a Dovahkiin helmet and Pauldron/ shoulder piece.
I thought about wearing it to the release...but, playing dress up is kinda...weird.

It'd be okay if it were Halloween, but its november...
I'd just like someones thought on this. Know anyone who does that? Dress up for a midnight release?

Not sure about a video game, but I remember all the kiddies dressing up for the Harry Potter midnight showing.

Some Harry Potter fans dress up to new HP releases. Do what you want, if someone thinks you're weird who gives a [censored]. Just enjoy yourself.

Someone dressed up for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 midnight release I went to, though I think it was an employee of the Gamestop I went to. Nothing wrong with dressing up at those things, plus you could always dress up as Dovahkiin for Halloween.

Little bit cheesy in my opinion, but do what you want. There are far worse things you could dress up as.

One thing I'd have to deal with is the attention. I hate it.
I'd like to just stand in line, not pump everyone up(Step out of line, pictures taken, be all social.)
Its a conundrum! Go as Dovahkiin, embarrass my brother? No one wants to stand next to some skinny kid in cardboard-ductape armor!

Its not even that good! If only I were taller...and had muscles...and a horse...and some swords...

Why should their opinion matter to you? They'll probably never see you again and if they do they probably won't remember you. I say go for it!

Nah it's cool just don't cheese out with card board and tin foil. I recommend hitting up Home Depot and going to the Tool section for some genuine leather strapping( a couple leather tool belts) and a padded leather pauldron (leather knee pad).

Damn you know what, I'm totally going be a Dragon Born for Halloween this year.(hmmm, buck skin will look good)

Mate, it's a midnight sale... guess what everyone is going to be thinking when you show up in your costume.

Hint: "Omfg nice nordic fur armor! He's totally a bigger fan than I am, I didn't even bring a costume!"

Or something like that. Moral of the story is that everyone else who is going to a midnight sale for a game is going to be as much of a fan of the game as you are.

As for me I won't be cosplaying, since chances are it's gonna be around a good minus 5°c on the 11th of November where I am at. Too cold.

Precisly, just don't cheap out on the costume and it will be well received. Think "Epic" when your putting it together. Just ask me if you want some pointers for everyday objects you can substitute into your costume like the ones a gave in my previous post.

If you get the white duct tape, then it isn't so bad. My girlfriend and I dressed up as Team Rocket for Halloween last year, and we made her outfit almost entirely out of duct tape, and it worked like a charm. You just gotta be sure to layer it so that it's not too flimsy. Heck, you could even paint it if you still think it's too shiny.

I'm not the type that dresses up, but I got a feeling that you won't be the only one who dresses up for the release.

Also: You guys are all so awesome. Watching how lovely this entire thread is, is almost as sweet as the Shire around Spring, if you know what I mean. :)
