I was wondering what fun and different methods people have or can come up with for dealing with legion hit squads. Yes, I know there are NCR ones too, but I imagine they are different enough from legion ones that if someone wants to talk about them they can make their own thread .

I am not talking about maximum efficiency, and I don't want to see plain, average basic responses like "beat them over the head with a super sledge" or other typical methods. This is about fun, and also about fun ways to plan ambushes.

Personally, I have taken to regularly traveling to Wolfhorn Ranch when I feel a legion assassin spawn is due to prevent a spawn around innocent bystanders. I realized how typical their method of approach is, and at wolfhorn ranch you have a nice hill they have to run up to, and a convenient sand bag bunker sort of thing at the top to greet them from. I have found that covering the hillside they run up with mines and then picking them off with a mid to long range weapon if needed (like if they stand on the road and shoot long range), or for kicks. Don't use anything with an AOE or you'll waste your mines. Just lay a minefield after each time you get done killing them. I have never seen innocent NPC's wander through that area so I just leave them there and replenish the field after each battle. I find Wolfhorn ranch a great spot as I don't know of many other places with such a predictable path they like to follow that you can blanket with mines, AND not worry about innocent NPC's running through it.

So, what fun and/or creative ways have all of you come up with for killing assassin squads?

Can't think of any off-hand, I just vape them to get it over with.

On the note of more generalized sporting goods savage hilarity, try this:

Every time you come across a spot where legionnaires sleep and stuff, lay a frag mine on each of their beds after you finish them off this time.

Next time they respawn and you're in the area, you'll hear the mines pop. Go in and finish them off, and then loot them for their Legion denarii, and re-lay mines. If you have plenty of plasma mines, those work too. Fat Mines may be a bit overkill...

Then go buy some chips at a casino. Guilt-free profligacy at the expense of people who hate it!

I don't know about "fun" and "Legion Assassin Squads" being in the same sentence,,,

I guess the most fun I had with them was later in the game (after dieing, of course), I picked off 2 of them with headshots from the Anti-Material Rifle

Until the Legion came to visit us.

I was ready to fight them, but Arcade Gannon...

His crappy plasma gun fired before mine.

He started blazing, and killing everyone in one shot.

I interviewed some of the legion members:

''I fear no man. But that thing...it scares me.''

''No, I'm not going to talk about that freak, alright?! He's not here, is he?! How do I get this thing off?!''

''One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that coat. What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty...''
