Funny Story and serious question (small early game spoilers)

Here is the story. Ive had a run of bad luck with Fallout Vegas. First i play the game, get about 12 hours in. (I love to do as much exploring as possible instead of doing the main quest so i didn't get very far.) I get sleepy, so i turn the game off, head to bed, wake up bright and early, remember i have the new fallout, i get all excited, make me some coffee, run back to the game room, start it up, press continue, while that loads i figure ill go take a leak, come back and its frozen. Thats cool, sometimes games lock up, no biggie. I start it up again, hit continue, walk out to get the coffee, come back, its frozen. So this time i'm gonna just load the game instead of hit continue. It tells me my download content is no longer available, do you want to continue anyway. Of course not, i like my handy dandy trusty vault flask. I turn the game off, start it up, try again, same message. I am not deterred easy, years in the military has taught me patience, discipline, i am a stone wall, one with the silent monks. I restart try again. Same message. Oh well, i think, i'm not even playing hardcoe mode, the flask is pointless. Although deep in the back of my mind, i remember all the good times me and the vault flask had together. The long drinks i took before and after battles with death claws that so cleverly blocked my path to the glowing city in the distance. I remembered the times when it was just me and the flask huddled together on the makeshift bedding, in a basemant, of a facility filled to the brim with invisible super mutants. My mind cried as i finally just pressed, Yes continue anyway. The game loaded for a second as my mind shoved the memories of the flask into a dark corner...... Then i get a message....... The storage device you have selected is no longer available........ NOOOOOOO! I turn of the Xbox, unplug it, take off the hard drive, i blow on it to clear the dust like its an original Nintendo. Plug it all back up, patiently wait as it loads again, just to see the same message.

Heartbroken. 12 hours of my life waisted. I glare hatefully at the Xbox, thinking to myself about how i defended it against all the PS3 die hards, how i waited by the door patiently after it had a red ring episode and had to be shipped off to Microsoft. How happy i was when it returned. Now.... i plotted to kill it. I had it all planned. I was gonna leave it running with out touching it for 6 hours, until right before it kicked into sleep mode (when its defenses were down, then i was gonna hold a pillow over its air vents until it quit whirring. Then bury it in the garden, and explain to my wife that it was stolen, but first, i would give it the benefit of doubt and Google the problem.

Apparently it wasn't an issue with the Xbox. Apparently, the only explanation i could find was that the memory corruption was caused, somehow, by picking up a space suit in the "Fly with me" quest chain. Its a shame, because that suit was awesome, and i had planned to where it to disco night and like totally blow everyone else suits out of the water. Oh and i had forever lost 12 hours of my life. but oh well, remember I'm a stone wall.
I restarted, trying to reassure my self that it was a good thing because now i could redo my points better, and this time skip the useless night lover perk. So i get to the part where im killing the Geckos. ( I like to kill them with my bare hands. Nothing makes you feel more like a man than punching giant mutant Geckos and Scorpions to death.) Anyways, im stalking one, completely undetected, blending in with the desert environment, i get close, i can feel my breath bouncing off the back of his neck and ever so slightly stirring my survivalist beard, I rear back, and with the strength of 1000 gods i smote him in the back of the head. The pure energy of the attack disabled my Xbox and gave me the red rings of death.

Heartbroken. My warranty was up. No more free mans for my Xbox. Unless of course i wanted to pay for them. Any as any true gamer knows, Paying for a free man is punishable by death. but once again, i am one with the silent monks, a stone wall, A stone silent wall of monks, if you will. I take my broken, battle worn, veteran Xbox to game stop and trade it in, towards the new 250 GB Xbox slim. I get home, unpackaged it, the whole time thinking not of the new Xbox, but of how at least, me and my flask will be reunited once again. And then i realized, can i even re download the classic content now that i got a new Xbox? So Here i am posting my question on the boards.

So can I? If i can how?

I found that story amusing and sad... The flask was probably just as depressed as you were.

Wow, I'd have put a controller through the wall by that point.

Okay, one faint silver lining in all this, assuming of course you intend to stay a 360 customer. The new Xbox S fixes many of the overheating problems and other manufacturing defects. In fact, in many ways, its a very different machine since they switched to the smaller chips, different drive, etc etc. I traded in my old Elite for a Slim the week they came out, and it runs so much better than my old one, I never regretted spending the money.

So, try and look at it as a surprise upgrade, I guess.

i love the people who come here for console wars other than answer a question or even to lol at my bad run of luck. Now a game like fall out would be much better on the computer, because of user generated content, but im currently having a computer worthy of running it, built at the moment, so my choices are limited. But as for multiplayer FPS i would never get for a computer, simply because hacks are usually out with in hours of release, and i would rather have quality of game play over quality of graphics.

Admins, could you make a Console War section, so these people have somewhere to go?
