Future DLC Suggestions #7

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:58 pm

I wonder what 'Old World Blues' is going to be as the DLC are supposed to follow the story of hunting down the other courier so how does the 'Old World' come into I'd be interested to
hear what y'all think anyway.

The question is... Does this add anything worth while to the game? Is your gaming experience really going to improve because there are the ruins of popular fast food franchises pasted into the game?

If anything, there could be some Fallout universe versions of fast food franchises, not Burger King or Mcdonalds. But even then, there is no reason to add them to the main game.

Hey in Fallout we have the Coca cola Parody aka Nuka Cola. Why not make the parody of Mc Donals and Burgher King?

That's why I said Fallout universe versions, not the actual thing.

But they should not be added to Vegas itself. If there is addon content for the main map, it should be because of development that the current people made, not pre-war buildings that suddenly sprang up out of nowhere. That stuff is suitable for mods, but not official content.

One Thing That Seems Likely Is New Reno. They Talk Alot About It In The Game. Then Again They Talked About The Commonwealth Constantly In Fallout 3 And It Never Showed Up.
As For Other Places The DLC Should Explore Area51, Graceland, And A Point Lookout Sized Map With Locations From Fallout 1.
Also The Legion And NCR Capitals Where You Can Actully Become An "Offical" Member Of The Armys, Or Totally Destroy Them At The Source. These Would Be Best If Done Seperate But Realeased At The Same Time.
I Dont Like The Idea Of Returning To The Capital Wasteland But As For Chacters Returning Desmond Would Rule, But He Headed North If He Lived So Itd Probably Just Make Me Mad That Hes There. Id Put My Money On Him Going To The Commonwealth To Kill Madison Li Befor The Mojave.
A hardcoe Mode With No fast Travel And Weight On Everything Would Be BOSS!! And If They Doing Stuff To The Core Game They Also Need To Expand The Radio Soundtrack.
As For Other Peoples Ideas, Time Travel YES! The Brotherhood Seems Just Like The Type To Try And Change The Course Of History Against The NCR But Not The Bombs. Also Warping Back To The Day The Bombs Fell Would Be Awsome. And A Supermutant Orcastra Is The Best And Funniest Idea Iv Ever Heard On These Forums, Plus You Gave Legit Reason To It +Bonus Points!!
Also This Battle With Ulysees Had Better Be Epic!

Hate to be like this, but seriously, please don't capitalize every single word! It just makes it harder to read and looks better if you don't.

But New Reno is only mentioned a lot because it is a major location in the region, and so is every single other FO1/FO2 location that is referenced. Also, a Point Lookout sized map with "locations" would be the most laughably scale down map in a video game. The settlements are farther apart than anything in Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

I'd count on new locations as opposed to old ones, especially because they are all in NCR territory and would be pretty civilized and probably kind of boring.

Agreed dude I hope they continue they ending or I'd just like a more Brotherhood focused ending or a longer Brotherhood story.
I honestly wouldn't mind if they did put the capital wasteland as a location I'm NOT asking for it before anyone argues I'm just saying I would be open to it, it would be cool to see how things have progresses. And for the Lone Wanderer they could use an import of your Fallout 3 character maybe .

why not russia?? a huge expanse of land plenty of space for hidden vaults e.g. ural mountains, a nice pre war style steam train to link the hundreds of miles between cities and towns. And possibly the best thing is the fact that everything would look new. this opens up completely new factions, new mutated creatures and abominations, new weapons and armour. But then again due to its massive size it would probably be to big to be just a dlc and would have to be a whole new game, but then atleast the idea is there why not try linking the game up to different countries, theres a whole world that i would mind exploring.

There's plenty of Airports/Airfields around The Mojave dude but I agree why would we have to go Russia?
A DLC where you help Joshua Graham to take down The Legion?

This is bordering on expanding the Fallout Universe to an online final fantasy style game IMO.
Probably far too much work for obsidian/bethesda to care about since theres not even a basic multiplayer option or easy links between the main land and dlc

I'm not sure if it's been brought up or not, and I'm not gonna go searching through all the pages.

I think a DLC in D.C. would be pretty awesome. I know a lot of people are groaning now after reading that, and I would be too. But a throwback to Fallout3 would make me a happy camper. I'm not sure what you would do there or how you would get there..Or even why you would need to, or want to go there. But imagine walking through the beautiful downtown D.C. ruins, fighting east-coast super mutants, fighting alongside Reily or somethin'.

Or somethin' *shrugs*. I guess I miss the atmosphere of D.C.

Also who do you think the Fallout 3 character is that Obsidian have said will make a comeback?

It might be Lyons. But I'm hoping it's Three Dog. I'd pee myself in joy to see his awesome facial hair and perfect DJ voice again.

OK.QUICK PITCH
Pip boy radio signal recieved.
It is advertising an (old world) airline that is "run by robots, leaving no room for human error!"
It says that their next landing spot will be at co-ordinates blah-blah-blah,and your pip-boy will say"hmm, those co-ordinates are...CAMP SEARCHLIGHT AIRPORT!
So you travel to camp searchlight airport, and see a rusted, weatherbeaten old airliner, with various robots scuttling to and fro with fuel pipes, supplies, and other objects.
Then, one protectron with a green and orange stripe across his chest(which is the airline's logo)comes up to you and explains why they are here
He says that they stumbled upon this place when signs of life were detected, and landed in the safest place they thought possible.
He says that the courier can join them on their trip for 40 pre-war moneys,or with a science skill of 65 or over, decieve the robot and make him accept 1000 caps.
He then explains the destination they will next go to is....CHINA.
you agree to travel there, and are escorted onboard the plane by sentry botsWhilst sat down on the plane, you notice a thin, green, flourescent mist is descending from the air ducts
You suddenly feel very sleepy, and the lastthing you hear is"This is just a little something to help the passengers relax on their journey...next stop...CHINA.
Tell me what you think.

the boomers have a working bomber why not fly, and i dont no why russia but i could also say why vegas, why D.C, we could go there on an NCR mission, could be the slave capital of the world. then we have a nice big job of either freeing as many as possible or buying some and making them do ludacris acts like searching deathclaw infested caves or running through snow covered fields filled with bear traps and free the last man standing. honestly i dont no why use your imagination anything can happen.

The Boomers have a working plane, yes, but what if we are vilified by Boomers? What if we killed the Boomers entirely?
And I don't see any point going to another continent, why would The Courier want to do that? For what reason?
And what if we're vilified by NCR?
And why would NCR even want to go there? They have problem handling their newest bit of land, Mojave Wasteland, why would they want to travel across the ocean to another continent?

The boomers have flight simulators in their mess hall they could come in handy in learning to fly it yourself. and as for why the courier would do it your now asking the psychology of the human mind and im gonna go ahead and put that down to the basic instinct to discover, and it does not have to be the NCR but your asking why the NCR would do it i would put that down to oppertunity. The NCR obviously believe they can take the mojave wasteland otherwise they would have called off the campaign there, so they may want to take a little look over into russia to see if there for one is any actual civilization there, two once america is taken that russia could be the next country to take they have vertibirds to get troops there its got to be worth the resources.they could send you over there on a bit of a recon mission it all goes south you get taken prisoner then put to work as a slave, you need to work together with other slaves in some shady underground network of resistance fighters with home made weapons to over through the faction in power and take their leader hostage. how about that is that any better??

gabriel77dan is right if you screw things up with the Boomers then buying that DLC would be a waste of money till your next play through. They don't want you to go near the flight sims. Also most people don't get into a Bomber or any plane without having a place to land or re-fuel. So our character getting the itch to explore and taking the bomber to who knows where is a bad idea. The Boomers will not let you take it and again where would you land it? How would you fuel it to get back?

The ability to finish the story and continue playing would suit me dandy.

Oh, also: actually being able to return to the DLC area(s)...

Nope. They've said they won't making one that does that.

If they do make one then thats all it should do. No new weapons or items, no new dialogue or NPCs, no new quests, locations or areas. Just the ability to play after the ending.

That way those of us that don't want it won't miss out on content if we don't get it.

They why it's so hard to understand that 98% of games -including the original Fallouts- end, I don't know. Same with the inability of some people to bother reading the big pop up that reads 'Point of No Return'

Oh, also: actually being able to return to the DLC area(s)...

I really have to disagree, would it really be so hard to have us return to places like the Sierra Madre? What if I want to gamble, or find the snowglobe, or find the Vending Codes and such (I already did them all before I left the first time but still) the Sierra Madre is a nice looking place I want to go back or at least have the option.

Only problem is the defense system which removes any and all weapons from you.
But it could be explained to be broken after the vault explosion.
