Future DLC Suggestions #5

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:37 am

I like the Idea of having a series of side quests to re open the lucky 38 that would be awesome.

Weapon ideas:

tesla coil; much like the flamer, only with lighting or electricty, runs on ECP's, mods: incendiary reactor; causes lightning to not only shock but light on fire;, extended reactor; ammo cap 70 to ecp.
energy: 70, str: 7, dam: 25, dps: 175 (this would look something similar to a multiplas rifle)

crossbow or bow and arrows; duh, uses arrows. mods: scope; adds long range sight;, stronger bow; decreases weapon hp drain rate
survival: 40, str: 4, dam: 33, dps: 44

plas laser rifle; mix between a laser and a plasma rifle, takes MF cells, 4 per shot 20 per clip, shoots a bolt of plasma and a beam of light out of the same barrel causing an orangeish elongated bolt of energy. mods: recycler; 50% drained MFC saved, upgraded reactor; uses 2 less MFC per shot,
increased mags; ammo cap 20 to 40, plas laser rifle scope; adds long range sight (? the scope is a questionable mod ?)
energy: 80, str: 8, dam: 45, dps: 107

Also, it would be nice if you could build armor mods at a workbench, like a tesla emitter for the power armor or spikes for combat armor or reinforced bullet protection or energy pretection or overall reinforcement. That would be awesome, especiall if they increase the level cap and make enemies stronger.

custom soundtracks -- the ability to play our own music while playing the game (not many PS3 games do this...)

i thought up an idea for a perk

-- Favorite Food --

-- Effect -- you can choose 1 kind of food. The food that you pick becomes equivalent to a hardcoe mode stimpack, meaning that it heals as much as a stimpak over time. The radiation is also canceled out.

-- So, you pick the perk, then you pick between a bunch of foodstuffs, like cram or salisbury steak, and from then on that food is great for healing you.

this could be a trait, but there would have to be a somwhat equal negative effect as well.

another perk

-- Rapid Perception --

-- Requirments -- 7 Perception

-- Effect -- Whenever you're health hits 50% your perception of time slows down, allowing you to calmly and carefully plan your next move

Area 51 is in Nevada...
There is already a mod for PC but we console gamers can't play mods.

It could be controlled by the NCR. An alien ship crash-landed in NCR territory and was taken to the base. Most of the aliens were unconscious after the crash, some awoke and fought but were outnumbered.

This can be a "sequel" to Mothership Zeta. You can play for whatever faction you're aligned with, or for yourself...for example if you were aligned with Legion you would obviously fight the NCR stationed there and steal their secrets of alien technology. Obviously it wouldn't change the outcome of the main questline, it's just a side quest. It would be nice if there were multiple quests involved in Area 51 and not just one big quest.

You could also have the option of revealing the existence of aliens to the world at large...or you could actually help the aliens go home (although I don't see why, since they can be quite hostile and mean to humans, but I guess maybe it could make them look more sympathetic.)

Inside the base are several Alien Blasters and lots of Alien Blaster Ammo so if you got an Alien Blaster in the game from the aliens you encountered at the crash-landing site (I think this happens only if you have the Wild Wasteland perk) then you would have more ammo for that very powerful weapon. Maybe some other alien weapons too.

These are just rough ideas, please don't call them stupid, I know Bethesda can make it more polished than I would be able to :)

@Gabriel: what about with bad leg, arm etc it's only at very small health instead of crippled so it cripples easy but can be healed slightly.

Also concussion: your head has small health and is crippled easily.

I know I'll likely be criticized. But I think we should have something akin to Op:Anch that gives us a window into the Pre-War world. But this will be more like, you find an experimental time travel device, but only like the H.G. Wells/Back to the Future kind. IE, it only travels to the past in that exact spot (So no going from Vegas to London and etc). It lets us experience the Pre-War world to a small extent, Maybe some sort of Pre-War 'fallout proof' suburb, but in the future we know it will fail when the bombs fall. I don't know what kind of quest could be wrapped into it, but in my opinion, it would be a neat idea. :sadvaultboy:

That sounds really fun IMO.

Well, since Disadvantages would mean only con's there could be two ranks for them, at first rank it's like yours and at second it's like mine.
Imagine playing a Joker from Mass Effect with Explosives as main combat skill. :ahhh:

Vehicles would handle as [censored] and I'm tired of this discussion, it's been going on since Fallout, that's two years.
The problem is the engine, next up is the gameworld.
The engine makes sure that driving a car would be like driving a car in a half-life 1 mod.
And the gameworld would mean incredible glitches and bugs and deadstops for nothing.
As or right now it's not a good idea to have cars in Fallout.
Maybe in the next game.

Why create one's own faction?
If I wanted to do that I'd just use GECK to mod some guys into it.
Creating one's own faction "in the game" would feel very... Unrealistic.

Run a casino?
Why?
We already get a [censored]load of money.
So there's not motivation for it.
Maybe for the questline of getting the casino up and running but, how are we going to actually "run the casino"?
New minigames?
Paperwork?
Advertising?
Seems like a complicated idea with not enough of a reward to make it worthwhile.
Helping some other dude to get Primms casino up and running and being able to collect cash every third day while he runs the casino would be a nice idea.

Manage farm, again, there's farmville on facebook.

ED-E.

Again, no. I hate the idea of the games being absolutely cluttered with vaults.

Err... Yes. It is. I know it's hard for you to impose reality on your conspiracy theory fantasies, but regardless of what you think the nefarious secrets of "Area 51" are, it's an indisputed fact that the facility known as "Area 51" is a part of the Nellis Military Operations Area.

There is a base built at Groom Lake and is many miles from the Nellis Base. Nellis Military Operations Area does not mean the two bases are the samething. It just means that two bases fall under the same area. Devs said they did not do Area 51 because its to far from Vegas to be on the map. There is an American Air Force base built on a dry lake bed (Groom Lake) out side Rachel Nevada. Its used to test top secret air planes. Nellis is a normal American Air Force Base that does normal military things. USA government admitted there is an "Area 51" because alot of people got sick and died from some every nasty chemicals they were burning in big open pits.

All I want is the Northern Passage to blow up... you are just strollin' around, pickin' off fiends or what not, and then *BOOM* You see a mushroom cloud form, and a quest is added, go investigate the explosion.

Upon walking closer, you see Joshua Graham, laughing, then he disappears into the cave...
Dun dun dun DUN.

It'd be a great entrance to the next DLC.

What makes no sense about it? That someone blew up that passage? There is enough explosives in the world.

Enlighten me, back up your comments. Or be forever... lost in... non-back up land.
