Future DLC Suggestions #5

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:11 am

To the Two-Faced storyteller..

Maybe the rumors say he looks like that, because he can't actually look like that. Way too ridiculous to actually be that. He can have the insanity afflictions as you say, but Fallout's more about realism in the core and leaves the God stuff and crazy things to folklore - basically every anomaly comes down to something explainable. If you meant the rumors said that and that's not him in reality, then nevermind.

And I think they're sticking to a backbone of the Great Divide and the other courier so tying that in might help? Besides the fact that the DLC storylines are already decided upon and being made to some extent (including the very last one), good luck.DLCs are planned before releasing the main game. But more power to you!

On another note, it's about near impossible to continue the story. The affects on NV are way too vast. Besides, Obsidian already announced they don't plan to in November.

About that marriage thing, that could work, and would add a lot more realism to the game. Possible candidates would be

Veronica (possible gay marriage) (you must have her as a companion and you must have suggested her to stay with you after 'i could make you care' and an additional quest) CH: 7 (FM)
Sweetie (possible gay marriage) (use her services a total of 25 times and she'll suggest dating then an additional quest to free her from her hoker contract) no requrements
Red Lucy (possible gay marriage) (after bleed me dry special dialogue options and an additional quest) CH: 7 (FM) ST: 7 (M)
Sarah (no gay marriage) (vault 21, after curing her agoraphobia through an additional quest) IN: 6 (M+FM) CH: 5 (M+FM)

Benny (no gay marriage) (if you freed him from caeser he will later suggest dating leading to marriage) CH: 6
Boon (no gay marriage) (through an additional quest, you can convince him to love again) IN: 6 EN: 7
Micheal Angelo (possible gay marriage) (through an additional quest, you cure his agoraphobia for good) CH: 8 (M) 6 (FM) IN: 6 (FM+M)
Jimmy (gay marriage only) (after using his services 15 times he will consider dating, just like sweetie, an additional quest to free him from contract) CH: 6

This should be apart of a DLC that continues the main story like Broken Steel did, most likely just a DLC about reopening the luck 38, because of what "lawmanjoker" said about the affects of New Vegas.

I would like more quests with CL. so many for NCR and none for us legionaries. :cryvaultboy: why not make us one of the men in CL during the arizona campaign, perhaps we could fight with the tribes against CL. Alot of opportunity for DLC

Are there any significant area's to the west of the Mojave Wasteland? I'm asking because of what i've seen at the location Canyon Wreckage, which is here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Canyon_wreckage

It seems to suggest maybe some future DLC but i'm wondering what could be to the West of the Mojave?

Bakersfield and LA

@waffles- if you have a certain trait and you do something special with Benny and let him live he gives you a note saying he wants to make it a longer term thing.

Courier Number 6 DLC the mystery needs to be solved

The Burned Man DLC

Navarro DLC (Although I think the NCR burn it down I'm not completely sure)

Area 51 DLC

Raise the Level cap to 45 but include Godbroken enemies that require 20 bullets or more to kill.

Death Valley DLC (Although the 151 miles away might be a stretch)

Other than the two areas mentioned within Dead Money (Big Empty and The Great Divide), there is one area I would like to go to: Denver. Denver was supposed to appear in Van Buren (canceled Fallout Game) and is described to have huge towers and streets that have wild, savage dogs (including the cyber variety like Rex) roaming the streets. The Legate also mentions the Legion taking over Denver, but saying that it was not in the Legion's best interest to have taken it over. This could mean that Denver may have little to nothing within it, or perhaps the Legion did not have the ability to "tame" Denver, or perhaps risked too many resources for it.

There had to be more to Denver than meets the eye. And seeing as how Van Buren is gone, this would be a great way to see what it was that we were supposed to see. It would also be a good way to introduce Cyber Dogs as enemies rather than Rex being the sole Cyber Dog in New Vegas. Another neat aspect would be exploring the towers that were left from the war. Rather than having exploration in a horizontal manner, we would have a vertical climb, and even have to deal with the danger of falling to our dooms. Plus building exploration could bring back some flavor from Fallout 3, seeing as how most dungeons in New Vegas are more of the cave variety.

Civilization wise, there are two known groups. The first is a group of scavengers that live in some of the towers. They stay in the higher areas to avoid the dogs and dangers. Whether or not they have been dismantled by the Legion is unknown.

The second is the Legion itself. The Legion has a presence in the Mojave, but not as much of a presence as NCR. Plus with the NCR having more quests than the Legion, this could be a good way for the developers to allow more interactions with the Legion, and more quests. Plus this would be a good way to incorporate the actions of the player into a DLC. If the player is liked by the Legion, they will be able to interact and gain more favors with the Legion. And if the player is hated by the Legion, they'll have another threat to deal with while in the DLC.

Here's the low down of the DLC:

- New main questline for the player to playout (I know I didn't give a reason as to why the player would go to Denver, but I am sure the developers can come up with that).
- More interactions with the Legion faction. Players actions beforehand determine if they're friend or foe.
- New areas for the player to explore, including huge towers and streets.
- New enemies, including packs of Cyber Dogs. Perhaps new variations of Legion soldiers.
- New items and rewards such as weapons, apparel, perks, chems, challenges, recipes, and more.
- Possible level cap increase with possible additions to level up perks.
- Possible side quests for more playtime within the area of the DLC.
- Estimated playtime of DLC: 6-10 hours.

How about a DLC that allows you to continue the game after you beat it just like fallout 3.
(I bought the Dead Money DLC and have no saves before the no return points.
and NO im not going to start over i put in too much time with my charater to start all over.)

Make the current hardcoe mode have weight for caps, legion denarius, NCR dollars and chems.
Caps should go by 100:1 ratio, meaning each cap weighs 0.01.
10.000 caps would mean 10 weight.
Denarius go by 0.02 which means 50:1 ratio.
NCR Dollars go by 0.005 which means 2000:1 ratio.

Chems go by different values.
Stimpacks are 0.7.
Super Stimpacks are 1.4.
Jet is 0.5.
Psycho is 0.7.
Mentats are 0.6.
Med-X go by 0.4.
Rad-X go by 0.7.
Radaway go by 1.0.
etc etc.

they should also add a more percise method of movement depending on how much you are carring. (more weight makes you move slower than less weight)

They said that they won't be doing a continuation DLC to give more emphasis to the story.

Area 51----
The Brotherhood are looking for something deep in Area 51. You are hired to unlock the secrets of Area 51 and secure the legends of it. You find a holotape at the first elevator that says "The Test subjects A102 through D771 are loose and infecting the guards". In a safe next to the holotape you will find a weapon called the Alien Obliterator. The rest is you shooting the infect guards and aliens to unlock the technological vault which contains 500 APC, Alien Blaster, Alien Atomizer, 100 MFC, Multiplas Rifle, the Prototype T-51B "Tesla" Armor, and other various items.

Recreation----
Courier Six picks up a letter... from Washington DC BoS Chapter requesting help that was intended for the Mojave BoS chapter... find a pilot and check it out. When you arrive the signal leads you to a brotherhood of steel outpost in a sewer system called the Taft Tunnels (The ones you use to escape "the waters of life") you meet Elder Lyons and asks of you a favor. Adam's Air Force Base was taken down about two years yet the Enclave still have 100's of members. The Citadel was destroyed by enclave orbital strikes. He asks you to find someone who lives in a bunker (National Guard Armory) who was the son of a scientist named "James". You find him and ask him if he will fight with the courier. He refuses and there are two options. Tell him your the Courier who cheated death in Vegas (100 speech required) , or do tasks for him. after that he will don a suit of T-51B Power Armor and Vengance, the unique Gatling Laser. The two then link their Pip-Boys and modify them to use as radios. The Lone Wanderer and The Courier fight their way through new areas of DC, Kill the General of the Enclave, and shater the Enclave. And then an optional objective pops up to erase the Enclave from the History Database (Bad Karma). The wanderer offers to come with the courier back to Vegas, But the Courier has no choice but to refuse, as the BoS need him. The BoS fly you back to Vegas in a vertibird they captured from AAFB.

One problem with that. The BoS Citadel contained a unique weapon that I cared for more than the Brotherhood.

Yeah, I think you can guess how that turned out.

@Wieghtaholic "Enclave missile strike'. :P. Plus Lyons could have been desprate and sent the note, radio beacon, and the tasks convince the wanderer to work with the brotherhood again

If I get a message from Lyons, it'll have to be through a ouija board.

No, no, no! This is New Vegas! I DO NOT wan't to revisit the Washington Brotherhood. What would even be the point of going back to kill Enclave members? All of the Enclave is technically GONE. NCR members hunted them down, people did not want to take them in, all we have left is the remnants. It's a poor DLC Idea, sorry. I might be harsh here, but, seriously, I do not want to meet "Myself" and fight alongside myself.

Let's leave it at this: Enclave are only remnants in this part, we have no clue if they are rebuilding elsewhere. The BoS in DC are well prepared to be handled on their own, and that area of the Fallout chapter shall be remained "closed."

My idea is for the 360 and ps3. My idea is to be able to build any thing you want and to be able to fix up the vehicles so you can drive them also more crafting abilities like being able to build more weapons, and weapon mods. It would also be a good asset to be able to equip weapons to the vehicles.

Build anything we want to huh? (Imagines how great a statue of Bruce Willis in pure gold would look like)

Anyway, vehicles.
They aren't exactly suited for the Mojave Desert.
The engine is kinda crap with handling vehicles so add it's awful mechanics to the brutal wasteland's geography.
The vehicles would bug out like crazy, spaz, glitch, no-clip through stuff, fall through the earth etc.

I would want vehicles added in a future fallout game if done right. ;)
But New Vegas' landscape? With Gamebryo? No thanks.
Not to mention that the land isn't exactly "big" so there's no real need to drive to places.
It'd be better for the developers to put focus on other content than something that is already doomed to fail and isn't very necessary to begin with.

I think mob wars would be pretty nice.

I think a DLC with the legion of caesar could be cool. Or one where you start up your own group of wastelanders to take over the strip and what not.

Between like Omerta's, White Glove and Tops?
I'd vote for White Glove cause their meat is the best. :)
(Yes, they'd slap the other two to Valhalla.)

Yeah I think that would be real cool. Maybe Mr. House could be gone and some one else runs the Lucky 38, to add another group to the strip.
