Future of East Coast

Post » Sun Jan 03, 2010 11:08 pm

So, would you like for Fallout 4 to return to East Coast or would you prefer Bethesda to focus on West Coast (or some other part of the World)?
Personally, I think it would be ideal if Bethesda continued to work on East Coast while Obsidian works on West Coast (hopefully New Vegas is not the last Fallout spin-off they will make). Both teams have their visions of future and the parts of the world they created probably fit them the best.

While I would like to see how things developed on WC after events of New Vegas, I would also like to see what happened in EC now that the trade has been simulated, BoS has grown in power and the Lone Wanderer brought order to Washington (the Black&White-ness of F3 can be seen as the Lone Wanderer brutally cleansing Washington from bad guys). Who payed the Talon Company to keep Washington in an Anarchy? What will happen with EC BoS now that Enclave has been destroyed and they theoretically control the EC? What about BoS Outcasts? Did the Enclave die and if not, will they stay true to their oldest ideals or will they follow Autumn's ideals?
Since reviving the franchise has been accomplished, I do think Bethesda can now focus more on the story and making it more unique and making good use of it.

Of course, WC also does sound interesting as all endings of New Vegas could change the flow of history there. If NCR won, will they continue with their aggressive expansions or if they lost, how will that affect their territories? If House won, how will he affect the world? What happened to Yes-Man after the reprogramming? What about the Legion, will they still play the role in future and how would Ceasar's death affect them? Have they created Rome in Vegas or somewhere else?

I voted for "Yes, but only if Obsidian continues to work on West Coast." I was thinking of "No, I would prefer puting all focus on good old West Coast" but I can't trust Bethesda to have learned from New Vegas not to undo all the progress in the West.

Chances are Fallout 4 will be in the East or many Chicago area.

I agree. My vote would go to the midwest as the location that Fallout should "return to" (since tactics was in the midwest).

We have had like a million threads on this. I want the BOS to stay focused on the east coast until when the BOS in the west are dead. THEN go back.

For Midwest, choose WC. The reason for that option not being there was to not clutter the poll as in base itself it is about the settings of old Fallouts vs. settings nearer to F3.

Fallout 4 will most ikely involve the Commonwealth but the Midwestern Bos could return and wage a war against the Capital wasteland Bos over the institutes technology.

God no, don't make the Brotherhood(s) the main focus of a game. I agree that it will likely involve the Commonwealth, but I expect that the Institute would be a force to reckon with in the first place, no need for Brotherhood.

But yeah, I'm fine with more East Coast, the Commonwealth sounds intriguing, and an expansion on what Talon Company is like (perhaps making them joinable). Talon Company in Fallout 3 was essentially an empty shell of a faction, there was a lot of room for them to be interesting.

Yes, indeed, "poll is racist". Parts of USA vs. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1109122-other-continents-survived/?! This only corroborates cut and dried opinions about U.S. Americans. What about http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1077289-vault-war-i-a-suggestion-for-a-fallout-strategy-game? Or the other continents, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/982313-australia/, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/949593-wheres-africa/, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/918119-europe-and-asia?

Although, I have to confess that I would like to see http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Institute in a future Fallout game.

Yes actually Australia, my home town because a fallout style wasteland would be a hell of alot more interesting than it is now, and having it in a pile of ruins full of mutants really wouldnt seem like it'd changed that much, mutants in utes thats what it should be called.

The problem with the East Coast is,all we know about is that of Point Lookout,Pittsburgh, and Washington D.C. We dont exactly know about cities like NYC or Philadelphia.

Probably because the series is about America.

Once the Enclave has restored America to her former glory we can take up where we left off and eradicate all those smelly foreigners. And we conquered Canada fair and square so it's part of America now.

Or Baltimore, which is only 30 miles from the Capitol........it's not even mentioned in FO3.

I'd like to see what happened to the Midwest, it's in between the Core Region and East Coast. Too bad most of us don't consider Tactics canon, I do though.

I'm generally apathetic towards Tactics. I got bored. For all I care Tactics is canon, if it makes the Tactics happy. Pretty much the same reason why I'll accept that Fallout 3 is canon, even though it didn't really make sense.

The major storyline of Tactics is officially considered canon regardless of what anyone here thinks about it. There are smaller details that aren't considered canon, but Bethesda hasn't exactly elaborated on what those details are.

I was starting to think that I was the only one who found Tactics boring. I thought the mission design was bland and uninspired; I had to force myself to finish it the first time, and I haven't been able to get very far in the game since.
