Future fallout protoganist.

This is a question to the Fallout community. would you want to play as the same protoganist from fallout 4 in future fallout titles?

I prefer brand new place, brand new story.

No. I think a lot of people were not exactly please with how the PC starts out in this game anyway, so continuing that would just be moving that same issue along.

That would be the worst idea since... since voiced dialogue.

I'd prefer a different protagonist each game, though I would like to be able to pick your general backstory like the first two fallout games.

No thank you.

I don't like the fact that you have to play as this character in FO4.

I don't want to play as Brian Delaney again. I prefer a strong silent type...someone that speaks with their hands, not their mouth.

Though a voiced protagonist was an excellent step,

I would like to play a different voiced protagonist.

So, no.

Your character should be able to make a cameo appearance in some capacity in Fallout 5.

No thanks, voice protagonist was a nice change, but I prefer it if they still stick to the concept of playing a new character in each new game.

Definitely not. This was my least favorite protagonist in any of Bethesda's games as well as any Fallout game. The voice acting, dialogue system, set character and story all contributed to this.

It seemed like Bethesda attempted their hand at being Geralt or Shepard, but they just do not have the skill at writing dialogue or narrative to pull it off. This game seemed like they stretched themselves too thin and didn't do anything particularly good.

Bethesda doesn't need to make a set character to have a good story and writing. They could have done what Black Isle and Obsidian did, but it seems like they ignored New Vegas entirely when they developed this game instead.

In fact, if the next TES or Fallout game is like Fallout 4 then it's going to be my first game that I don't purchase.

Edit for clarification: The voice acting in general was a huge step up, but I absolutely abhorred the voiced protagonist and dialogue.

Nah, I enjoy the concept of each game being in different locations. It gives a grand view of the condition of the country, and how these places have survived over time. Plus the awesome Vault Tec stories you get to play through in the various vaults.

I hope they continue to show you the story from different prospectives.

I don't even want to play as this protagonist now.

I don't even like this character or story as it is in fo4 let alone keeping him!

The story and back story is one of the worst things in fo4. At least in fo3 you were a blank slate not whining about your dead wife and missing son everytime someone talked to you.
