Future of Modded Skyrim Benchmark

Post » Thu Feb 13, 2014 5:21 am

We all know skyrim evolved significantly in all these years, yet all websites that review hardware, mainly vga use vanilla skyrim which provides false information on vga standpoints.

Im rare poster here but i want to know if this is going to continue or something is going to change?

Its not like i want to all vga get owned by skyrim, as much as i want people realize how strong and important pc gaming is compared to consoles. (no i dont want console vs pc wars to happen) But i do want to games start using dx11 or at least dx10..

Any thoughts?

Skyrim is nearly off the radar for those kinds of websites, and will probably disappear from benchmarks in 6 months to a year.

I agree that it's unfortunate that sites don't use more interesting metrics, but remember that every mod setup is different, so numbers wouldn't be apples to apples comparisons. Any good site will want to produce reliable numbers, and that's pretty much impossible with mods due to the wide variety of setups.

In terms of publicity, there's no good answer for you, though there are plenty of vids on youtube or elsewhere that show off mods and setups way beyond ULTRA quality. If you just want information, look at the STEP Project forums.
