Future of Tamriel(the NEXT BIG EVENTS) - predictions.

Oh, my objections have nothing to do with magic and everything to do with the logical flow of events and already established lore. Yea, sure, this thread is about speculations, but I was thinking that while its in lore (as opposed to general discussion as it was originally) we can keep the speculation at a hypothetically possible level.

ok it's a little over the top. but so is all the dunmer tore up and living on a piece of ice in just a few years. however whatever happened. i think the telvanni survived. and will be a force to reckon with in some shape or form. they had a whole mountain range between them and that rock. and an easily defended island in port telvanni

What is with the Telvannis? Yes, they had cool towers. Yes, they were magnificent bastards. But their dead. No-one has yet to provide a logical explanation as to why a telvanni lord would have a mark set outside of morrowind, or would even notice anything happening outside (they ignored the blight long enough). Maybe the telvanni islands survived, but that just means they will be even more isolationist than ever before.

Telvannis sure survived. Bein' far enough off, that is. Would be a bloody shame if all the nice attitude and shrooms were lost forever.

Whatever the future installment of TES may be, I hope its something with Valenwood or Summerset. :jammasterjay:

Hmm, The only problem with both settings is that if Beth keeps doing this essential character stuff my elven genocides will never be complete.

The Telvanni were jerks and slavers; no great loss if they were mostly wiped out.

The return of the Ayleids aleady happened. It was Mankar and Umaril. They were the climix of that particular threat, not the prelude.

Hmm... a Fallout fan? :P

:disguise:

Let's say, A bethesda fan. :whistling:

IMHO Morrowind>>Fallout 3>>Oblivion

But if TESV combines the best elements of each game, then it would definitely come first.

Fallout had the great element of hard to find loot and the struggle to stay alive, which made each new item we found a treasure.

If most of the gear we find, are used and rusty then if we kill a gang leader and find a shiny new weapon, it would be a treasure for keep.

Dunmer and Nords on the same side? Impossible. Just kidding, since all the Dunmer are in Solstheim. Go Skaal!

Just so long as they keep the post-apocalyptic crap to a bare minimum in TES. If I wanted that I'd play Fallout, and yes it happens to be all the rage right at this very moment but going with fads will ultimately cheapen it. But of course I'd have to expect it given how much Oblivion took its design cues from LoTR instead of being creative like Morrowind was. But then again, the next game will almost certainly be in Skyrim which is a relatively isolated and unexplored area of Tamriel, so it's hard to expect an apocalypse as the main theme. Zombies don't do well on mountains. Vikings are rather cliche as well, but the influx of Dunmer immigrants combined with everything else going on could give things some zing. So I don't know, the door would seem to be open, and that's exciting.

Rogue Hist's turning Argonians into mind enslaved puppets in blackmarsh, leading to a civil war unlike any of the thousands that Nirn has seen before...
For the moderately wacky bit I imagined a whole bunch of red and black scaled argonians dancing to thriller for some reason as I was posting.

Been there, done that.

Masser and Secunda decide to emulate the Ministry and crash into Tamriel in what is the final, glorious step of Lorkhan's return onto his realm. AE LRHN ALTADOON! AE NUMEN! *splodes*

gorsh, maybe that's what's gonna happen here on earth on December 21, 2012; the end of the Mayan calendar. :o

At the moment it's every race for themselves. Notable figures that could turn the tide are all gone (Vivec, Nerevarine, Champion of Cyrodill, etc.), so we wont be expecting any help from them anytime soon. Although it's every race for themselves I also believe that certain events are going to drive different races to create alliaces for the greater good (one such alliace that I have seen many times recently here in the forums is a pact between the Dunmer and Nords to drive out the Argonians from Morrowind). I'm not expecting the Akavir to get involved in this turmoil because Tamriel is in a very weak state and since the Akaviri races are depicted as very powerful, they would quickly wipe out most of the races from Tamriel. AND THE THERE WOULD'NT BE ANY MORE ELDER SCROLLS!!! AHHHH!!! :ahhh:

What do you guys think?

Ummm... The calender does'nt actually say that the world is gonna end (or change for that matter). The problem is that the calender was discovered by the wrong person (and by "wrong" I mean an insane idiot who wanted to be remembered in history as the man/woman who figured out when the world was gonna end)...

Maybe the guy who was crafting the calender got tired and did'nt feel like making another one.

Then again there are different cultures around the world (most of them did'nt have contact or even know that one another existed) that predicted a great CHANGE (keyword change) on one date (21-12-12). Some examples of the cultures are: Ancient China, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Aztecs, Mayans, Nostradamus (Which I guess he represents the French). And those are the only cultures I know with this prophecy.

I know this post is a bit confusing to understand, but I hope you guys got the point...
Sorry...
(Don't know why I said Sorry)..
Maybe I'm insane...
may...be....
Maybe Not
Hmmm...
ZzZzZzZz *falls asleep*

Edit: Just remembered something else that predicted the end of the world: The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Bot. If you don't know what that is then follow the link.

Found something http://www.2012supplies.com/countdown.html for all you crazy people who just can't wait for the world to end

Personally, I like Warhammer's version of magic. You can do complete wonders, but the following may happen too:
1) Your head will literally explode
2) You die
3) A demon ends up possessing you
4) You succeed.

Well...

My list:
1) The spell backfires on you. Likely only happens when you are under stress, for example perhaps a Dremora tries to kill you. Or perhaps you just didnt use that Resist Fire scroll you were CLEARLY TOLD TO USE, IDIOT!
2) The spell takes on effects to itself you would never ever dream of. See Ancotar for an merciful example. The Maruhkati Selectives, I think, are less merciful.
3) If you try to control a Daedra then it may be the Daedra which controls you. Feyfolken I think...
4) Nothing happens at all. No examples here... Not sure if this is possible. If you try to do something with magic then something will happen. Perhaps not what you wanted but I am not sure it can just dissapear.
5) You succeed. Whey!

Depending on the skill of the wizard and the complexity of the spell the chances of this decrease or increase.

Wow, I should play Warhammer then. Sounds like casting spells would be a lot more fun in that game than TES. What is that one game that allows you to be eithe a thief, a mage or an assassin, and the spells allow you to shrink people and stomp on them or lift people with telekinesis and throw them?

There is also the Aldmeri Dominion that reformed which is an alliance between the Summerset Isles and Valenwood.
