You missed Cicero, the Night Mother, and Babette. You only think you killed it off.

I'm thinking that since the most time and effort out of any of the quests in the game was put into the DB quests, we have a writer somewhere who really digs the DB. Which makes it unlikely they will be written out.

You fail. There is a quest to destroy the Dark Brotherhood. And even if you do follow the DB, you can still kill Cicero at the end. You might be thinking of the Redguard with the sweet lovemaking voice.

You can spare Cicero. If you do so, he is available as a companion.

Yes I know, I've obviously played the DB questline. The other guy said Cicero was still alive though, which is not canon. Canon in TES usually means maybe, because you can kill almost everybody at some point. Still, the Penitus Oculatus wouldnt just stop after 1 attack. The DB can't survive the Penitus, especially now that there are only 2-3 members left, and they murdered the Emperor. They're screwed. The Penitus Oculatus are assassin/spies as well, like the KGB.

Pfft. If the Penitus Oculatus was so great, hey would've won against the Thalmor. And considering that the DB's moved base and Gaius Maro is likely dead, I doubt they can launch another assault.

The KGB was great but the CIA was better... maybe.

Cicero is alive if you destroy the DB. Taking that route you can kill all but two members (Cicero and Babette). Joining the DB you can kill all but two members (Nazir and Babette) Cicero might be alive using the last option. I seriously doubt that the Penitus Oculatus is capable of killing the remains of the Dark Broterhood.

First of all their presence in Skyrim was because the Emperor was planning a visit, with the Emperor dead their reason for being their vanishes second their commander officer is either dead or probably under arrest for his big screw up in protecting the Emperor. Then the Dawnstar sanctuary that hasn't been used in hundreds of years is the new place to go, which is simply unknown to that group, and nobody will sell out the DB now. Equally improtant if the civil war has not yet been completed or has been completed in the favor of Ulfric then that entire organization has absolutely no power in Dawnstar. The DB will live on, as always.

Sure it lives on, but still as a shadow of its former self. No matter what route you take, the Dark Brotherhood is neither destroyed nor powerful.

That would be Emil. He seems to enjoy the whole innocently morbid schtick. For reference, I'm pretty sure he wrote most of Hircine's dialogue in Bloodmoon.

No, but it does likely have a listener either the Dragonborn or somebody else, it is capable of killing the Emperor whether you do it or not and that sends a signal to the rest of the world. With those two combined the Dark Broterhood has a chance of getting back on track. At the very least they should get a few more contracts now.

Well, I stil hope they get raplaced by something more mature. The DB are just a bunch of crazy goths who like to kill people and wear S&M leather.
