[RelZ] FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition #28

No, its not there. My repair skill is 70 so when receiving the bonus it should show as 80 (+) shouldn't it, to show that the extra skill is a bonus? Well, it doesn't. It doesn't just seem to be a display issue since it makes no practical difference to any repairs either.

Does the effect appear under the Effects tab in your character screen?

No.

If I wear the Vault technician outfit I gain the +5 from that (and metalworking 2) but the workbench boost just doesn't show. All other functions of the workbench seem to work.

I was thinking of writing a how-to get started using FWE and list the mods I have.

Once I get a good starting build made, once you figure out how things work its not so hard.

Did you try this:
This might not make any sense at all, but you could try to manually enter player.dispel XX37779E in the console, where XX is the mod index of your FWE main file esm.

That would be cool

hey guys.. been away for a bit and I have a question..
issue..
sort of..

simply put, I cannot get enough meat off of what I hunt/kill/find to ever satisfy my characters hunger.

Shouldn't bigger animals provide more meat then the smaller animals when they are killed, or is something not working for me

-I thought it was working

..and of course :woot:

luv's it :)

Yes, the quantities of food you need to scarf down is a little unrealistically high right now, and that's being adjusted in the next version. That said, "heavier" food items generally provide more nourishment, with things like the 1 lb. piles of dogmeat or molerate meat giving you the most for their weight.

Outside of DC, random dog packs, the occasionally yau gaui, etc... usually provide more than enough meat. Occasionally I'll rustle from Brahmin herds for a bit extra. Inside DC it's usually tougher to find food other than junk food. When departing off on an adventure, I usually carry about 5 WG's worth of food with me, and toss maybe another 10 lbs in the motorcycle for good measure.

Good, that's the only reason I disabled PN. I think that something as big as a Yao Guai or Deathclaw should drop multiple meats, it'd actually make hunting useful and worthwhile.

I remember reading something like that, but I haven't seen it in game. Is it a separate plug-in?

With the repair skill is it supposed to happen that if your skill is not yet 50 but go near the workbench and get the bonus, you get the note added that your repair is 50 and now can craft repair parts.

/edit another thing, this is with the craft workbench option. It doesn't matter what item you select to craft it says your crafting repair parts, it does the right equipment check for the items though.

Yes, tried that. It did nothing obvious. What is it supposed to do?

What entries in FO3edit should I be looking at? I assume the workbench script? Are there other factors too?

This is good news to me, it will make me get brave enough to take on the big things so that I can get more food to survive easier. I really can't wait to play with the next version. I feel like a kid in front of a new toy store, waiting for it to open

Just want to add a comment that the FN FL weapon is a bit over powered, as it basically mows down anything that gets in it's way. Is this meant to happen??

Hmmm... in my game it is quite powerful, yes, but it doesn't exactly "mow everyone over" What difficulty are you playing on?

Anyways, I couldn't find the spoilers thread so yea...

Spoiler
Wanamingo?!?!?!?!? WTF IS that thing???? :ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: :flamethrower: :nuke: I came up on two of those things, by a lake, and it quite literally freaked me out.

It's not really overpowered. Compare it to the other assault rifles via weaponscanner and you'll see it's only slightly more powerful. It has slightly higher damage and smaller spread, but the smallest clip size of all assault rifles.

That's from MMM. It's a creature from the old Fallout games.

I have a couple questions about perception. Has the range at which you get NPC markers been reduced? What exactly are bonuses/penalties for having high/low perception. I've read that it's something about critical chance but would love to get some numbers to know exactly what I'm getting.

The range that you detect enemies factors in your perspecption skill, but it also runs through the detection formulas, so it's a bit tricky to pin down how exactly it works . . . plus the GECK formula for detection isn't terribly accruate.

Currently, perception influences your ability to detect enemies (i.e. the radar), it's associated skills, and there is a critical hit chance bonus. I don't have the numbers in front of me though to say what the bonus is. In FWE 5.0, perception will also influences the range factor for VATS hit% calculations . . . so as your perception increases, raneg matters less and less in VATS.

Ah, the crit chance bonus is the one I'm most interested in. Does it get higher as perception increases or is it more like you get some fixed bonus as long as perception is above 5?

No, it's a linear relationship, and actually you have a minor crit chance penalty for PER below 5. It ranges from approximately 0.66 mult at 1 PER to like 1.5 at 10 PER. Something like that.

This is the first time I've ever bothered to use repair in FWE, is this usual at all?

its more reasonable now. you should have seen it in the earlier releases. the only weapons i saw that was uber in this one is the metal blaster which upped the ammo usage and reduced the projectiles abit. that way i get the weapon to use in a pinch (i play on hard and very hard) but i have to pay a price for it by going through ammo quickly.

as for the most disgusting creatures that is still the centurion. its the only enemy in the game that fights you by puking on you. :)
