[RelZ] FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition #31

Post » Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:02 am

Any armor replacer will work perfectly with FWE, if
-it will add new armor and don't touch vanilla (including esp/esm mods)
-or it will replace meshes/textures for existing armors without esp/esm

Alternative start don't change anything about main quest line, so you will be able to continuw your journey.
titan357 is right, you simply have hole in your history.
But keep in mind- some beginnings (f.e. raiders, talons) can make your main quest progress impossible or more difficult due to faction's relations. So- don't mess with the Brozerhood of Steel :) And with Rivet City security.

Thanks for the info. Now to reinstall Exnems Female Body Replacer Mod which changes the look of female vanilla armors with meshes and textures with no esm and esp.

I chose Vault Dweller for Alternative Start to fully enjoy the harshness of FWE. Regulator and Mechanic are cool especially with the new weapons one starts out with but i wasnt ready for that kind of firepower from the get go for my latest character.

I've been having problems with the CP ever since I installed the newest FOIP module for FWE and MMM. All the settings stay at default even when the menu says they are set to a certain thing. I can trace it back to the introduction of the new FOIP module because I never had that problem before.

Wanted to make sure that didn't get missed. An example would be that I have set Sneak Messages to on, and then I play a bit and they appear, but when I quit out of the game and come back later to play... it doesn't display sneak messages... I go into the CP and it says they are on, but they are not. I click on the setting to turn it on, and they reappear. I know the same problem is occurring with XP to level as well.

Yes I noticed it while playing using "Harsher" settings, I could still hit a raider (95% in vats) with a badly damaged laser pistol 100 yards away, with a 27 in energy weapons. Something that shouldnt have been possible.

Figured it out, actually. I had tested so many versions of FWE5 that the menu was just boondoggled. So I unloaded everything FOIP/FWE/WMK/MMM and saved it, then reloaded them. Works fine.

So, I'm off to the National Guard Armory. Unlike last time, I have a Barter skill of 90 now. WHEEE.

This problem not occur if new game was started with FWE 5.0, so- possibly it is result of upgrade from previous version.
To resolved
-disable FWE
-Load game without FWE
-Save game
-Reenable FWE.
-Load last save
-Set all options as needed

The 3rd Type- thanks for the test experiment :)

This depend from your settings.
By default- none, but you can change this in the diapason from FWE default to Vanilla

well, I need to remove all FWE files and some MMM esp files then reinstall FWE 5.0? to make sure I don't have any problems?

this is all so confusing.

well, I think I can figure it out anyway,I am just gonna unload FWE in FOMM and then install over top of it first to see what happens.
Then I have to deal with project beauty, does it NEED the geck? or will FOMM work?
THEN i have EVE to setup
and I think thats about it for major mods, the rest should be simple.

rawr, maybe Ill just wipe my FO-3 folder and start over, I already have almost everything saved in my d/l folder I keep for a back up.

Just wipe FO-3 off system, then start from scratch? sounds much easier for me than going and doing all that stuff over, and it should clean my install up a little.

the more I read about project bueaty the more like a pita it sounds, looks like you need the geck for what ever reason.

Yea, Ill just scrap my current guy and start over, I have a folder with all my saves as a back up.

I think completely wiping and reinstall is the way to go, only need to D/L a few mods and the FWE 5.0, as I keep backups of everything won't take long, about 2 hours I am guess plus D/L time, as I have GOTY version.

he was getting kinda boring anyway, he was too good at too much and with the T-51B Winter, I was rolling over just about anything in my way, unless it was a SMB, or a horde.

I think tonight I will start a new character and play it a little different this time.

Like I said, I kept all my saves and mods backed up, so the wipe/install should be a breeze, just need the few new mods and 5.0. BUT, can I save my save that I had in "the shack" for alt starts and use it? I spent like 45M's each across two females getting the faces right, and hair and eyes and such and would hate to loose the time and faces.

I figured cause they where in "the shack" that it would be ok, cause they really are not in th wasteland yet, I will keep my old guys saves in a folder in case I ever want to use him again.

P.S
My avatar is so old, its not offered on the avatar list now.

Hmm, perhaps you can use FaceGen Exchange to copy the face from one save to another. Look it up on Nexus.

It's as easy as browsing to the save file you want to export the face from - and the save file you want to import it to. :)

EDIT: To be on topic: just about the only thing I'd like to have added to FWE so far is the option to have even slower leveling. Using FWE Default now but ideally I'd like it twice as slow I reckon.

Make sure to check out the recommended load order in the FWE readme after installing. Thats what i used as my guide and had no problems. Best wishes on a instant start up :foodndrink:

Titan, I've spent a lot of time checking different posts and comparing them to my load order - afterwards I clicked "Auto Sort" button just for the heck of it and guess what happened - pretty much everything got sorted the way it should, there's only a few entries that need to be replaced but that's it. So to save a great amount of time just click auto sort first and do the details later.

I have a minor suggestion:

How about making Wasteland Motors look a bit more like a business? Remove the skeletons and add a couple of workers like a mechanic and a guard? Having one guy ruining and defending the whole shop seems a bit scarce.

Anyways: I really, really love the mod. It's like playing a whole new game.
