[RelZ] FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition #32

Post » Wed Oct 06, 2010 8:53 am

You must do something wrong. I use modded bodies and have no problems using these with FWE. Make absolutely sure you place the folders correct. I normally create a FMOD so I can easily uninstall the mod in case I want a new one.

Um for some odd reason my Bullet time configure device in misc doesn't activate at all anymore in 4.1.1 it did. But after I updated FWE to 5.0.0 then 5.0.1 it no longer works.

I haven't gotten too far, just wanted to try and get it installed and play for a few minutes--anyway, just wanted to say "Nice effin' job, lads!!" I didn't think I'd ever want to play the game again, but now I'm actually kind of intrigued. Cheers! :foodndrink:

This really makes Fallout 3 into a brand new game, i had to give up and increase the carry weight though, i just can't help but pick everything up :D

I have a problem though. The settings for MMM reset everytime i start the game, FWE settings stay as i set them, though. Can this be helped?

Don't forget to install corrected FOIP patch for MMM, it will resolve your problems

I'm not sure, after upgrade to 5.0 this device must be removed from inventory- am I wrong?
In any case- use new FWE config tool for Bullet Time configuration

Unless it's not on on Nexus' FOIP page, i have all the latest patches. I did notice i was missing MMM - FWE EVE patch, but that didn't help this issue.

BTW, when i alter the MMM spawn settings, must i wait for the cells to reset? If not, this is not so big of a problem.

Yes, I talk about FOIP Nexus page- files here was updated too
No, you must wait for reset, but you can temporarily configure respawn time to 1 hour.

I have a question on Karma, theft/stealing & murder. I just installed FWE 5 last night. I capped Roy Phillips and his posse with no karma hit. Then I stole about everything useful I could find in their metro - again with no karma hit. So, does FWE let you murder and steal with no consequences? (just wondering)

Oh, lol, I also capped some random wasteland doctor for his grease gun with no karma hit either.

The notifications are silenced - karma no longer speaks to you. Don't worry, you're shaping up to be an evil git well enough :P

You don't have carma messages anymore- for immersion sake.
But this not mean you don't have carma loss after stealing/good peoples killing
If you use DarnUI you will able to see Carma changes on the Carma Meter

I didn't see anything about bullet time in the new FWE config tool. Some reason when I start a new nothing pops up asking me if I want to config the settings. Also If I completely uninstall FO3 plus all the mods I won't have to install 4.1.1 assest for 5.0.0 to work correct?

No, you need 5.0 assets only

OK, I do use DarnUI. I think I have it only showing rads & weight. I'll set it to show karma. Who knows, maybe I'll be an evil guy for a change. But I'm actually more of an opportunist than actually evil. Thanks for the help guys!

A few pointers here:

#1 - Yes we are aware of the high VATS number, no you do not have to be the 10.000th person to mention it. Next person to mention it goes to my uncool people list, you don't want to be on my uncool people list
#2 - Don't like the detection rates, simply change the stealth settings to moderate or vanilla via the menu.
#3 - If you are getting missing meshes and textures, you are either a)incapable of installing the files correctly, b)incapable of activating Archive Invalidation properly, or c)they are caused by an entirely different mod
#4 - FWE does not alter light, weather, water, whatever the [censored]. If you are having an issue with any of that, again caused by an entirely different mod.
#5 - There is nothing wrong with the fomod script from FWE. Why? Because it's the same [censored] fomod script that MMM uses. It simply extracts [censored] to the Data folder, no big magic behind it.

Oh and for anyone who cares, the only real bug currently known in FWE is in Operation Anchorage the healthkits causing your hunger/thirst to skyrocket. Simply disable PN before you go into the sim.

hmm interesting take. in my case i just use the type 3 cali body. which for some reason after installing FWE it put them
back to wearing their (male/females) vanilla skivies. not that it was a big deal, but when you make a blanket statement like
in #3.. well, i guess I should point out that the MOD list order you personally recomended to me (after looking at my list)
was the cause of that particular problem. FOMM autosort fixed that really quick.
as for #1.. are you aware of the high VATS number? so what do I win for being uncool in a fake world?
don't take that personally, just making a point.

Not sure how the cali body could be reset by FWE, since FWE doesn't touch races or body models.

No, you are provoking someone who is obviously frustrated. That's called trolling.

You realise you could open up the FWE FOMOD yourself, browse to the meshes\characters folder and find out that the mod doesn't touch actor bodies at all.

Heh, after months of casual reading I realised there is no question that this thread is has become THE thread for most of the player?s playing modded FO3 - it?s just this mod is in so many setups, it affects so many things and most of all, has the cababilty to turn the tide of whole game. :goodjob:

That reading, overall, made me realise as well, that like with those other few popular mods I have personally come accross in games - overall - this thread is mostly just "talking business", small things to possibly adjust, problems, future features.

The newer, smaller mods get all the compliments, well not all but you know how it goes - everyone knows this mod by now, there is no question how well made it is, so mostly there is only other stuff to talk about.

That said, I want to rise the voice of a "silent" mod user, once again - last night I had so good time with FO that it was like with no other game. Thank you guys, cause your work is awesome. :foodndrink:

After FWE, MMM, and Robco I don?t use any other gameplay mods, and man it was an experience to enter the certain Vault after certain caves (dunno, 12-16 super mutant overlords, in pairs?).

My level 24 char blasted away 150 M60 ammo, 150 of that H&K[whatiksname] ammo, some 50 .44 ammo, over 20 grenades of every damn sort, reverted to shotgun and slaughtered a few Mutant Masters before actually running like a bunny, to get some cover, to bring down most of the last Mutant Lords with Gauss Riffle (modded to shoot twice, thank God!). :P

Epic...I repaired my robot twice, but then ran out of parts. After ending up from there to you-known-where, I felt such accomplishment for having still some spare ammo, painstakingly carried around for all those weapons, as well as two power armor repair kits, to keep me alive.

All in all, the whole gist is that now I?m actually happy to survive, I feel that decisions that I made hours or days ago actually mean something and most of all, the game is not a joke, it?s exiting and fun, oh so fun. :)
