[RelZ] FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition #40

Post » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:42 am

No, this can normally only happen if you upgrade from much older versions, like 4.x (and even then it would be a rare occurance)

I'm running 4.1.1 (2009.11.18); can I apply the update (already downloaded), or should I download the "full" version?

EDIT: well, I just made a copy of folders "meshes", "sound" and "textures", and all FWE "esp" and "esm" files. If anything goes wrong, I can roll back the changes.

You need the full version.
Like the update states, it's only for upgrading from 5.0x

Overall armor durability was reduced in 5.03
So currently your armors health is not 100%, but actually around 200% which is why you have this high DR

Maybe I'm a bit slow today, but could you elaborate a little? Does this mean that eventually as my armor gets damaged it will end up at "normal" again and what I'm experiencing is just a temporary positive side effect?

 I need to pay more attention. Thank heavens I made a backup. And thank you for your assistance. :)

Well, back to the game. Downloading the full version in the meantime.

Well, I just installed the latest version and my char now weighs 1000 pounds(!!), without carrying a single bobby pin. And I couldn't save anymore -- CTD if I try.

I'm downloading the latest MMM and "FOIP MMM + FWE", since I was using both; I'll install them and then do the console trick quoted above to reset the weight.

Also, do I have to run FO3Edit and make a new merged patch, in order to fix the CTD?

So- you load your game, try to save and have CTD immediatelly? Or you try to save after location chamge? If the last- try to make masterupdate.
Yes, you must recreate merged patch, without it mod will work incorrectly. Don't forget to make upgrade from old FWE/MMM in save place and in accordance with MMM instructions, it can be source of your problems too

It was immediately.

But anyway, I downloaded the latest versions of MMM, WMK and the respective FOIP module, ran MasterUpdate, created a new merged patch, and voila: all is fine when it ends fine.

I was heavily afraid of damaging my saved game beyond repair (since I don't have the the older mod files anymore -- the zip files), but now I'm glad I took the risk: especially because of this new in-game FWE menu, from which I can easily fine-tune the game according to my own play style: two thumbs up!!

Thanks for your help, and for reminding me of the MMM instructions concerning the savegame (wait for several days in a no-respawn area in order to reset everything, etc.). Cheers! :foodndrink:

It's even easier than that with the current FWE, just set respawn timer to 1 hour from "Immersion Settings", and wait 2 hours. No need to wait a week anymore :D

I just finished setting up my Fallout 3 with mods only to learn that a new version of MMM is available. Sweet.

Hahaha, believe me, I know the feeling, hehe... it svcks, but what can one do? :)

Er, wait... something occured to me now... a new version other than this one (RC 5)? ---> http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3211.

I sincerely hope not, or I'll be in the very same situation...

Yes. There is MMM RC6 Beta and a FWE compatibility patch posted in the MMM thread. It has many good fixes and features, and upgrading is easy enough.

I got it to work by checking every file for IS part which I deleted it. Just another question Auto Aim Fix - Headshot Deluxe Edition v.1.1 work with FWE or is it incorporated in it.

You have much to learn about internet forum etiquette, young padawan. Please do not post consecutively more than once about the same thing.

Anyway FWE has it's own implementation of 'fixing' auto-aim. So you do not need another mod for the same purpose.

It might be nice to be offered a choice of which style ranger armour you receive as a quest reward. Because I covet Brick's full-suit, but I can't see a way to get it other than murder or reverse-pickpocket.
