Why?
Just go to the Tops before Nipton and kill Vulpes there and then go to Nipton. No biggy.

Should do, I have never tried it since I like Vulpes.
But it seems the only likely scenario that would make it happen. Unless he did just die randomly for no apparent reason.

Kinda on topic: Is the wiki still working for you? Anytime I click or load up a page on it the loads takes for ever and then just leaves me with a blank page.
