[REL]gaddgadd's Painting-style Splashscreen, Wallpaper, and

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:07 am

Well, I was taking some random screenshots yesterday. Naturally, as I always do to things I like, I ran a canvas filter on a few.1 This is the result. Note at this time there are only three images, so you can consider this a beta.

From the readme:

wallpaper. There are also several extras in each 7z.

===============
2. Requirements
===============

Nothing. You can even use the wallpapers without Morrowind.
(optional) 16:9 Monitor, recommended 1920x1080

===============
3. INSTALLATION
===============

Please see the individual readme that comes with each part, 'cause there are several different instructions for each.

==========
4. CREDITS
==========

Bryss Phoenix for his Readme Template, because, as always, I'm lazy.
The GIMP team, without which I would cry myself to sleep every night for lack of a good, free, image editor.
Bethesda, and all that
All the makers of the textures I use. Problem is, I can't quite remember all of them. I am currently trying to catalog all the mods I use. I'll try to update it once I finish.

==========
5. CONTACT
==========

Please PM me at Wolflore, GHF, or the Officials to contact me, although I am a very boring man.

==============
6. PERMISSIONS
==============

You can use this for whatever, including commercial purposes. (Not sure why you would, though.)
I would ask that you inform me if you wish to use these, or redistribute them. I don't expect people to use them, but it would
be nice to know. I'd like to know about redistribution because I plan to make more, and eventually come back and redo these
because I'm not entirely happy with some of them.

=============================
7. NITPICKS AND FURTHER PLANS
=============================
Not happy with #3 (Not enough contrast between water and sky, and you can see visible haloing.)

I plan on making more, and making each more unique. I.E., a small Morrowind logo on the start screens, frames on the splashs, etc.

I would like to make bethesda-style splash screens, and am currently tinkering with that. (If I do this, I plan on making versions
for each popular UI mod. This depends on whether I can get the proper resources.

Tinypic preview of #2: http://i50.tinypic.com/t0rnlj.png (Tinypic apparently automatically resizes images, so it doesn't look as good as it will. Also it's not in the correct aspect ratio, so it looks sort of distorted.)

1Yeah, I also edited/cleaned it up in gimp. I didn't say anything for the effect.

Kay, added a tinypic link to OP. (note that I did more editing than I let on)

Edit: It's a png, so even at top compression it's pretty big. Sorry.
Edit2: Tinypic apparently automatically resizes images, so it doesn't look as good as it will. Also it's not in the correct aspect ratio, so it looks sort of distorted.
